Had this idea in my head for a long time (like years...) but never got the chance to draw it
Hehe I love creepy stuff. Er, a few people said the title and image reminds them of something like "it takes the helping hands of friends to fly" but I was going for "it takes a lot of sacrifice to rise above others." But you can interpret it however way you want 
People have been saying this reminds them of Nico Robin from One Piece who also had wings of hands. I never watch that show so I had no idea.
If I know how to count, there should be a total of 21 hands in the drawing XD

Aah, I love this picture!! I was wondering, do you have some sort of trick for how you draw hands so well?! At the moment I totally fail at it. T_T Any advice would be awesome!

I love this picture, but, it honestly make me feel sad. The facial expression seems, to me, kind of deranged. And your interpretation was how I was getting at it also. But, it really is a beautiful picture and has well represented emotions, in my opinion.

I think you nailed the concept you had. The hands are gripping painfully and pullind down on eachother, and the upper ones are reaching high.. the only thing you could've done is made it so the muscles in the grabbing hand's arms were a little more obviously stressed. <3 wonterful, Yuumei.

So many hands! hurrah! Hands are one thins I never ever get tired of seeing in a drawing; they are sometimes a pain to draw , too , but fun nonetheless... and the concept is pretty nice as well

I think it would be an even more awesome design had the hands not all been styled the exact same. Maybe some male and female, some stout, some long, and so on. Otherwise it's a glorious piece.
