Please bear with me, because this is my first tutorial. You'd think that after years spent doing technical writing, I'd have set myself to posting that kind of resources here on dA? Nooooo.

This is the method I use when inking my linearts in Photoshop. I don't claim it's the best method ever, and in fact, it's probably one that is quite time-consuming at first. But I like the results I obtain with it, and so I wanted to share it. Moreover, this is a method that works well with the mouse: you don't need a tablet to use it, and it allows you to give your lines an effect of varied stroke pressure you can't always get if simply outlining with the Pen tool.

It makes use of the Pen tool. There are plenty of complete tutorials about how exactly to wield it, so I'd advise you have a look at these, because I didn't have enough time nor room to go into details regarding that. However, there's a short blurb at the end of the tutorial that explains how it works. I hope this helps.

EDIT - Changed the font color. Also, don't forget to click "Download" for the full size (otherwise you'll only get a 400px-wide version).
