Thank you very much for your informative answer! I wish more people took the time to give well thought out educated answers. I always thought flash was better until reading your message. But now I might reconsider silverlight.

I had a hunch that you could possibly be a Linux user but both are one in the same; fans of both operating systems hate silver light. However that's not to say, me being a PC user, I prefer everything by Microsoft just because I'm some kind of fan boy. For example, I despise Xbox and prefer to use PS3 framework for our studio's game development. And as for silver light, it's just much more reliable than programs like flash for web development. -_^

Remember: PC is personal computer, which is a simple Computer. Mac, PC or Linux are all known names for different computers running a different OS. Firstly launched as an Apple's advert, it has gained some influence over the masses, making them believe that there are different types of computers, which is false. Although computers may have different operative system, hardware pieces, producers, etc; they are the same in essence.
Silverlight is another plague coming to the web, like Flash. Okay, it has good effects and such, yet they are solely made for a specific OS, and that makes it harder to integrate in different OSes. For example, Silverlight can run on both, Mac OS and GNU/Linux (or similar), yet they need more software to make it happen, and most users may neglect to install software they don't want/like to have anything "with cool effects". I include myself with them. I don't plan on using something owned by whom I ran away.

I remember. You use them in your game studio. It's fair.
I don't really start a war against, I just want to bring out a good piece of mature discussion. Just for the fun of it. I don't really like Windows or MacOS, that's all. And I like to know why their lovers like it so much.

I understand and you shouldn't feel as if this is a war. Even if the argument gets harsh it's good for both of us to better understand viewpoints.

I guess what I'm getting at is sure things cost money. I mean the PS3 Dev kit was $10,000 when we bought it and its 2000 now. But everything has its pros or cons and if things cost more, its not because the makers want every wall in their house replaced with 24"LCD screens, it's most likely for the good of the company. I'm the president of Soulfire Soft and I get the lowest pay out of all the members because my pay check goes strait towards the studio.

I see. For example, that Developer Kit you got, should be free. Mostly because that would increment the variety of games. That'd be bad for Sony, creators of the PS3, because that would lower their income, but would give the videoconsole a greater review, because with more people exploiting the PS3 resources, would help on improving it.

I don't agree that it should be free. I don't agree that any form of software should be free. It's nice to have free things once and a while but I certainly don't find anything wrong when a company puts a price on one of their products. The dev. kit was pretty much a computer and now that they have brought the price down to 2000, they are loosing money. things like this hurts us too in the long run. If the PS3 doesn't start earning profit, they are going to pull out of the game industry which would leave us with having to start our projects over on a different console.
