I love this spot off of the Seward HWY. those houses have always fascinated me.
Cool shot, interesting I never noticed any vehicles around them before.

Road trips with friends are amazing on these highways I find.

What a powerful photo! I can't help but wonder the story here.
Just for an advanced critique, I think there might be just a tad too much contrast, mostly in the upper mountains.

Yes I agree totally with you on the contrast, lol. I took this photo with a little point and shoot. I was so happy when I finally got my first DSLR. xD

I'm not sure exactly the name for the area of this spot, but you pass it on your way to Whittier, Alaska.

quite an amazing capture. magnific abandoned old place.
the mountain on the back could use a little more quality, though. or perhaps some more contrast.

Thank you Yes, it is quite magnificent.
Yes, I wish I was able to get more quality out of the background. But the camera I used was not the best. Just one of those point and shoot PowerShots, lol.

Ha ha! I really don't want to touch it. When you're there it almost feels like it has a force feild around it, lol. An untouchable thing that you can witness.

wow... i can't believe this has so few favorites. it's an awesome shot and concept. pretty sad, actually. i wonder who lived here. the reflection of the house in the water is my favorite part, as well as the mountains in the background. the only criticism i have is that the sky is overexposed... but you definitely did a great job of making the house stand out. well done!

Thank you so much. I do agree with your comment about the sky. I was having some trouble with making that work out. This is only the digital shot I took of it (With my not so great little shoot and click digital) so hopefully the ones I took of it in film will have come out better. *crosses fingers*

awesome! yes, it's hard to get a good balance between the foreground and a bright sky. awesome... will you post the film shots?

It can be sometimes. I'm thinking of going over this one again sometime and seeing if there is anything I can do to try and calm the skyline. If any came out I will for sure.

Onve my dad took me to a house on a lake because his friend lived there, and when we got there it was completely deserted and halfway underwater.

The simple colors, the setting, and the reflection is what I like about this the most! Great job!

Love the deep earth tones. On the whole, I can see this without the mountains in the b/g. However, their majesty creates a certain symbolism as well. Bravo!
