Name: “Riptide”
Height: 26 feet
Length: 60 Feet

Abilities: Swims at a speed of 20 knots, powerful jaws, sees in the infrared spectrum, can create powerful undertow able to suck animals as large as a cow underwater
Description:
After several attempts to place this creature in an evolutionary category, it was decided that the animal called “Riptide” was the product of the “Morgendorf Incident”.
“Riptide” was first sighted a month after the sighting and capture of “Hydra” in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Appearance:
“Riptide”, being an outer-dimensional creature has a bizarre shape. Its body, about 60 feet in length was supported by six long insect like legs. Two arms ending in flippers adorned its back and a series of eight smaller flippers ran the length of its long reptilian tail, the end of which was paddle-like. “ Riptide’s” most noticeable facial features included six eyes able to see in the infrared spectrum allowing it to hunt effectively under water, and a set of mandibles located on the back of its lower jaw.

Hunting Method:
“Riptide’s” hunting method was as unique as the creature itself. Using its two large flippers, it would push water past its body along to the eight smaller ones on its tail. These flippers would push water forward causing a fierce undertow.
Using this method of prey acquisition in shallow water, “Riptide” was able to trap and devour an estimated 30 people.

Death:
When sighted by a fishing trawler, “Riptide” was reported to the UBTTF who immediately sprang to action, launching depth charges from a Navy submarine hunter.
About three minutes into the bombardment, “Riptide” surfaced on its back with its legs clenched together. It was then collected and brought to the UBTTF Biological Research Center in the Florida.
