When I read the book I couldnt figure how they looked like at all, my brain didnt give up and it caused weird dreams...

I've never read the book, where do the aliens come from then, and do they look like the ones in the movie?

In the book they came from Mars, but the book was written in the late 19th century. The Martians pretty look like ( I'm assuming) like my design.
