Nope. Frieza was just that much stronger than Goku and he needed SSJ to beat Buuhan in the manga.

But vegeta did give frieza a reason to go 4th form, and goku was able to hold off frieza for a bit, so combine those, plus ssj equals overkill

Goku and Vegeta didn't have SSJ so Vegito would get beaten by Frieza especially at 100%. If Goku had SSJ then he wouldn't need to fuse and Frieza would get his ass beat.
