For a brief moment, I thought that was King Grayskull you drew, who btw was epic thanks in part to that big cape.Β Come to think of it, anything with big capes from furry animals make everything more epic.

He-Man figures are how I learned anatomy when I was a lil fella. Β They're actually pretty accurate, although exagerated. Β Thanks fedde!

I think I still have some He-man figures laying around. I should put them up on my plate of refs. I always make small misstakes when it comes to musculature.

Yeah, I almost never use references, that's why I have bins of paper with botched drawings filled to the top. Β One of the videos I watched and would highly recommend is this one:

Whenever I get into a phase where I can't get anything to look right I will watch a little of this video to get reset. Β He just makes sense in his lessons. Β Also, Dave Finch draws Batman, is left-handed like me, and takes the time to respond to his fans. Β He even re-shared one of my drawings on his twitter page, so I'm a fan for sure.

I guess I have to subscribe to watch that video though, but sure. I bet watching Dave Finch's teachings in dynamic poses would be helpful. I'm trying to learn more anathomy and poses whenever i get the chance. There's still a lot of stuff I struggle with, hands and feet, omg!..
btw. It's ok to use reference as long as you're not copying.

while i like the drawing and your take on the character...i gotta say your shading and line work really has a lot of appeal in these sketches you post. not an easy thing to do. good stuff
