History:

Ares was created for specific kind of missions like Assault and patrol. This ship was to be first of new geneartion of patrol ships. It is completley combat oriented, featuring many new technologies. It is promnient of its phasers, PHaser-polaron beams which were blue instead typical orange. This new XIV Phaser-Polaron strips were very powerful. On top of that there was additional eight phaser arrays which use the same core and were also blue thanks to the same arrangement they use. It have experimental shields and armor that were hard to penetrate due its high regenerative capabilities.

During Odonan war, two Ares class participates in war, with over eighty enemy ships destroyed during entire war, none was seriously damaged. Class was even deployed in Delta quadrant. Many technological upgrades that were first featured on this ship were later add to many other classes as well.
