There are other subtle differences too, like the dish and I think something else on the secondary hull.

I know the "A" was a redress of the USS Yorktown, but in Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise it lists the ship is being previously called the USS Tai Ho and a Enterprise Class starship? Beta canon is interesting sometimes.
