Description
Hello all! True update time!As you may know, I was working on a Twine game where you dated girls, invariably fell into ENF scenarios with them, and moved forward in a sort of Visual Novel format.
The issue was that Twine would work for a small game of that sort (I did finish a single scenario), but the "vision" was much more of a dozens of scenarios. After I finished 2 scenarios, the HUD got so cluttered and slow, and all the many images so hard to organize with the tool, that it was more hassle to just make a single new page than it was to even draw a new image.
Clearly I need to start smaller, and with a more specialized game maker - so here I go!
RPG Maker MV can be turned into a Point & Click adventure game! Luckily, I know a bit better how to program with RPG Maker, and hope to make a short game built around 2 students moving in to a new apartment, and the others helping them (You being one, with a couple others as well).
You play a genderless avatar in first person view that only knows one of them really, and as the moving day goes on, can build a relationship with them. There are 8 ending slates, and 18 scenarios.
Essentially you build up points with them through actions (or lose points) - if the points get high enough, you can get new choices/their ending slate.
The game is built around multiple playthroughs. The game "ends" when it reaches 1pm (and it starts at 7am). Each hour when everyone takes a break from moving stuff, you have a chance to do 1 scenario, giving you 6 scenarios. Doing certain scenarios may close out others in the future, and other scenarios may be based on a specific time.
Despite being in RPG Maker, this is purely point and click - completely drawn without any moving sprite work. There is no "fighting" but only choices. Like point and clicks, there will be some general "find and give" objects, but mostly it is a matter of choices like a visual novel. This will still take quite a while to make, but I wanted to give it a try.
The weird dimensions of this image is to sort of show how large the game screen will be, as per RPG Maker MV. If this goes well, I may make multiple more scenarios (other parties, events, or eventually even a full dating point and click simulator like I originally planned). I DO plan on some sort of ENF fighting game, having the gameplay and story planned, however the programming will be MUCH tougher than a visual novel.
If you have suggestions or questions, go ahead in the comments!

Good luck, a point and click sound fun. If you're feeling lazy, pure HTML would work with links or clickable images.

Twine was basically html with a display for easy visualization of links.
My issues was that the display got cluttered too fast, and more than that, my programming couldn't keep up with variables. Really ok a bad programmer and barely keep things organized. Rpg maker helps with that.
