Historically though, it wouldn't have mattered, because had she never been taken by Gothel her parents would have been starting to let royal suitors try to whisk her away and get her married off by the time she was 15 or 16. It's only through legislation in the twentieth century that the thing with 18 has even existed in developed countries at all, and it still doesn't even matter in quite a few places in Europe and all over the rest of the world, so... to me, that just makes this even funnier! Lol!
