Description Heh, well this is one of those things that just seemed better in my head. XD I think I just managed to make it confusing.

This is another illustration based on the Transformers story, "Small Problems," a wonderful piece by the talented *Ty-Chou , also known as "Ghost of the Dawn" on Fanfiction.net. You can find her story here... ---> [link]

This comic is loosely based on a scene that took place in the story...with a few changes done. XD Sorry, Ty-chou, my brain got away from me. XD Who knew Crystal was so good at climbing shower curtains? Certainly not I.

Poor Crystal, she's as arachnophobic as I am. Wheeljack is trying to tell the poor girl that the spider he's holding won't harm her, but she ain't comin' down from that curtain rod until he's gone. XD I don't blame her; I wouldn't trust him either. *laughs*

I hope the speech bubbles aren't too confusing...I tried to make them as distinct as I could, but as you can tell, I'm not a comic artist.

*laughs* I'm glad you liked it.

Well, admittedly I wouldn't be climbing the shower curtain, but I am a certified arachnophobe; any spider in my house that's over the size of a half-dollar, and I get the baseball bat.

Oh noes. Just don't let them climb up your baseball bat if you hit them and they manage to flee. It's a creepy feeling. Like.. really creepy and icky.

Sheer willpower alone is holding that curtian rod with a full-grown woman on it. Though I can relate how Crystal feels, I'd too get in the strangest places just to put distance between me and a spider.

If a spider is not a fast movin' freak I simply try to get it out of the house; when freakin' big I scream for help.
I do not like to crush them flat because YUCK dead spider guts on my shoes doesnt make me happy *jumps out of her skin, shivers and screams more* *imagines barefoot and dies*

I've read thru your comments and was all ORLY SRSLY THAT BIG FACE JUMPIN' SH*TS no I never gonna go to Oklahoma or near to Portland. Usually I'm not a streryle-freak, do not care mud or dust or any living cretatures around me but spiders... NONONONO, not anything 8-legged. I honore life in all form and dont wanna take theirs (life is the right of all ... beings?) but pls for the sake of sweet Primus stay away from me! On my part, I promise not to chase them (never did if I could help but when I feel cornered I attack!!)

I love the idea you made visible on this pic, enjoyed it! Would Prowl help Cristal to get rid of the hairy beast?

Zanne In reply to Swift117 [2009-01-18 05:32:29 +0000 UTC]

*cackle* Our spiders here aren't that bad; it's not like they're everywhere, and they're certainly not as bad as they are in southern states where it's a lot warmer and more humid. Which is good, because though I'm not as bad as I used to be, I'm still pretty darn arachnophobic. XD

I'm glad you like the pic, it was fun to do! And yes, Prowl would help her; he's upstanding like that. XD

Ahahaha! Poor Wheeljack. Oddly enough, if it was a tad bit bigger, I can see him fitting it with a collar and taking it for walks... and naming it Phillip.

Oh my god... I'd be either up there clinging to the shower curtain too or trying to smash it with a shovel........ which I've done before 'cuz the spiders here get that fuckin' big. O______o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zanne In reply to Neurquadic [2008-12-12 23:05:06 +0000 UTC]

Bahahahah! That's an awesome image; I could definitely see him doing that. "I shall name him...Phillip." Heck, all he'd have to do is come over to my grandparents and adopt one of their wolf spiders that always seem to love hanging out around their house. XP

Hahah, I get the distinct impression that swinging said shovel inside a tiny bathroom would do more damage than one of 'Jack's esplodey-thingies. XDD

How big do the spiders get where you are?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Neurquadic In reply to Zanne [2008-12-13 00:43:15 +0000 UTC]

Haha, 'course, then he's see if he could make it bigger so he could RIDE it and we'd all know how well THAT would go what with his track record... It'd be Arachnapobhia up in the Ark! xDDDD

lol, I was going into the garage to feed the dog when that incident happened... so the shovel was handy (the leaf blower was too far away) and breakables were not present...... luckily. (Also found that it IS possible to back-pedal in midair while I was jumping over the table old coffee between the kitchen and garage door and THERE IT WAS.)

USUALLY they don't get too big, about the size of the palm of your hand not counting the tarantulas. What I NEVER hope to encounter is a Camel Spider. Yeah, not really a spider, but close enough for me to scream like a little girl should I ever find/meet one.

What about you?

Zanne In reply to Neurquadic [2008-12-14 04:23:16 +0000 UTC]

O____O Whereupon I would brick myself in underground and never come out. XD Perhaps they could sic it on the Insecticons or something...spiders love bugs, right? XD

XD!! Wow, you have anime-jump skills, I'm impressed! I would pay to see a video of that. XD

Daaaamn, where the hell do you live?? I live in Oregon, so we get the big ol' hairy wolf spiders, but they're really mostly big legs with a fairly small body. Biggest one of those I ever saw was actually a little larger than my palm...then again, as I said they're mostly legs. And let me tell you, that's enough, because those little asshats are FAST. Not to mention aggressive. Bleah.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Neurquadic In reply to Zanne [2008-12-14 06:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha! Organic Spider verses metal Insecticons... But I bet Phillip would spit metal-eating acid. Knowing good ole 'Jack... xDDD

I live in Oklahoma, so it's nice, wet, and warm here. Perfect growing conditions for bigass spiders... >.> Mind you, ours aren't aggressive (god help me if they were)--with the exception of jumping spiders who have a tendency to jump AT MY FACE. Most are just..... there. Doing what they do and trying to avoid my foot.

Oh man, don't tell me that. I plan to move to Portland for college and I do NOT wanna encounter an aggressive spider. I'll add a shovel to my list of things to pack when I move... @A@

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zanne In reply to Neurquadic [2008-12-14 06:37:32 +0000 UTC]

HAHAHAH! XD He probably wouldn't wouldn't he?

Oooooh, yeah you guys get some pretty bigass critters over there. Don't you get giant grasshoppers and stuff like that, too? O__O Spider that jump at your face...?? *locks herself in the bathroom*

*laughs* Oh no worries, they're not like "Bitch Ima bite yo' face off" kind of aggressive. It's just that if you happen to catch one, they won't just lay still and take it. XD They won't go chasing after you or anything. *laughs*

Ooooh, which college, if I may ask? Portland is only about 15 minutes away from where I live. It's a nice city; tons to do, and a large art and music community. Heck, a lot of the Willamette Valley is into the Arts and Entertainment.

You're also going to have a serious climate shock, my dear. XD It can get pretty cold and wet here.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Neurquadic In reply to Zanne [2008-12-14 07:45:04 +0000 UTC]

He most certainly would! And give it a jetpack. A NUCLEAR jetpack. >8D

I don't mind grasshoppers. Those are fun to chase down, just like watching and or whacking fireflys with a tennis racket. Good redneck fun 'round these here parts. What's fun is watching your cat give a good old rodeo show when a stick bug has crawled on her back while she was sleeping. XD

lol, knowing my luck with spiders, that will most likely be the case. I was in Altus for two weeks during the summer, and we had a spider we named Clarisse who had a habit of sneaking up on us or trying to attack our faces. She somehow eluded us until the very last day, when another girl came in, found her in the bathroom, and proceeded to beat the living shit out of the eight-legger.

I'm aiming for the Art Institute there and I'm now waiting to here back. I'm crossing my fingers.

I was originally going to be moving there with two friends, but then they decided to spend another year here before moving, but I'm still going (if I get accepted, that is). I've heard of all the great festivals and things they have. They all sound like loads of fun and man, if I do move there, you're gonna have to show me all the cool sights! At least then I'll know more than one person from around there! And, while I do dislike cold weather, feeling 15 pounds heavier because of the humidity in SPRING is decidedly NOT FUN. D:>
I was actually born in Seattle; moved to Carson City, NV; and currently residing in the good old Bible-belt aka Oklahoma. My family is known for having traveling feet and, despite my original intent to move with my friends, Portland seems like a great place to start. 8D Cold or no cold.

Zanne In reply to Neurquadic [2008-12-14 07:57:06 +0000 UTC]

Jesus, spiders with jetpacks! That would be an arachnophobe's worst combination, you know? XD Imagine a spider that could reach your face from the other side of the neighborhood. XD

Ooooh, well best of luck to you! I hope you get accepted!

Heheh, if you like, I can show you the sights. XD I'd have to take you to Voodoo Doughnuts. Where else can you get a maple bar with bacon on the top? I ask you.

Well we don't have too much in the line of extremes when it comes to weather, usually. Since you come from Seattle, you already kinda know what to expect, but we don't even get as cold as Seattle does normally in winter. Plus you don't have to worry about the humidity much.

Hopefully you'll enjoy yourself; there's lots of things going on, and you'll make friends quickly.

Oh man, that's good to know. I was really little when we moved away and don't remember a whole lot, but we visited a few summers back and I thought the weather was ok-ish. YAAAAAAAAY!! LESS HUMILITY!!! I mean... HUMIDITY!!! xDDD

XD! I tell you, if one of those things came flying at me, I'd get out the napalm; I don't care if I burn the neighborhood down. XDD

Bacon on top of a maple bar! XD You've never heard of maple bars? Think of a bar-shaped raised doughnut with a maple glaze, then put a big strip of freshly-cooked bacon on the top. It seriously tastes like you're eating pancakes with maple syrup and bacon on the side. *laughs*

I just made myself a liar...it's currently below freezing with snow and ice. XD

lol, we got some ice today (there were a LOT of slick areas uptown) but no snow. D: I'd take snow over just freezing my ass off and looking at salt on the road. At least snow is prettier than dead grass and trees... >.<

I'm actually not a fan of maple bars, but I can make an exception with bacon. XD There are also other combinations you can get too, that are just as bizarre. There was one they used to offer that had Nyquil tablets in 'em.

It's STILL icy here; it hasn't really gotten warm enough to thaw, and we're supposed to get more dumped on us within the next week. This is really weird for this time of year; usually we don't get this crap until late January or February. XP
