Description
Heh, well this is one of those things that just seemed better in my head. XD I think I just managed to make it confusing. This is another illustration based on the Transformers story, "Small Problems," a wonderful piece by the talented *Ty-Chou , also known as "Ghost of the Dawn" on Fanfiction.net. You can find her story here... ---> [link]
This comic is loosely based on a scene that took place in the story...with a few changes done. XD Sorry, Ty-chou, my brain got away from me. XD Who knew Crystal was so good at climbing shower curtains? Certainly not I.
Poor Crystal, she's as arachnophobic as I am. Wheeljack is trying to tell the poor girl that the spider he's holding won't harm her, but she ain't comin' down from that curtain rod until he's gone. XD I don't blame her; I wouldn't trust him either. *laughs*
I hope the speech bubbles aren't too confusing...I tried to make them as distinct as I could, but as you can tell, I'm not a comic artist.

Ack! I'm sorry I haven't been able to comment on this picture yet. I have been soooo busy with convention stuff. Lots of artists whining to me about missing their deadlines. They make me so tired! >.<
I love this picture. I think fear makes you lighter so you can get up there and stay up there. I've had horrible spider stories, too. Though I've never had them dive bomb me while on the can. lol. They have, however, gone on kamikaze missions while I was driving my car. Freaking little things have death wishes, I swear.
But that's so much for the picture. I enjoyed it even though I wasn't able to say anything until now. ^.^

*laughs* It's okay, I know you're busy with a heck of a lot of stuff; I wasn't worried, honest. Having had to deal with stuff of that nature in the past, I know exactly how you feel; gets frustrating, doesn't it? Sometimes you just wanna smack 'em...if only to make yourself feel better. XD
*cackle* Well they say that fear IS a good motivator; I imagine Crystal's hanging off the drywall by now. XD Heheheh, yeah, that spider really had a death-wish; I'm just glad my roomie wasn't home; because she'd have gotten a front-row seat to me flinging myself out of the bathroom with my pants around my ankles. XDD Holy crap, in your CAR? O__o I'd cause an accident if that happened to me, I just know it.
You're very welcome; I'm glad you liked it!

Ugh! This week has been extremely frustrating. No one pays attention to deadlines and expects me to just ignore it. It's such a pain in the butt!
LOL, but that mental picture of you flying out of the bathroom made my day go by a bit better. ^.^

Welcome? I've been there since the beginning. My friends and I built this convention from the ground up. This will be our fourth year and out of those four, this is my third year being convention chair. So you'd THINK I'd be used to it by now. But every year I'm all surprised at the stress lol I just don't learn.

Ooooh, well we'll just say instead that you prefer to hope for the best in people, and that you won't have to deal with that stuff each coming year.
So how many people registered this year? *curious* It's awesome that you guys managed to pull a convention together; you know exactly how tough and exhausting it can be.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Ty-Chou In reply to Zanne [2008-10-08 02:16:00 +0000 UTC]
He have over 300 pre reg. That's twice the number as last year. We know we're not a very big convention, but we're really happy with those numbers. What about your convention? How does that do?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Zanne In reply to Ty-Chou [2008-10-08 02:58:52 +0000 UTC]
Are you kidding? That's a great pre-registration turnout! You'll keep growing and expanding until you'll need to hire minions to do your bidding.;D You should post pics of the convention when you're done; it'd be neat to see.
Kumoricon? It's doing very well! Attendance grew by another 50% from 2007; it's pretty much the only major anime con in Oregon now, and is getting pretty popular with the p:EAR charity auction too. We started in 2003, and have grown from 400 attendees in the first year, to 4470 attendees this year.
We're so excited for next year!

Hahahah, nah, I just liked to help. I haven't gone since; but it's still going strong! Though I hear it's being held in Vancouver, WA next year, which makes me raise an eyebrow, considering it's supposed to be an Oregon convention. XD *shrug*

Ty-Chou In reply to Zanne [2008-10-08 22:26:10 +0000 UTC]
Nice! 50% is fantastic! Means more money to make the con better. Our last two years we kind of hit a flat plane, but we think it was because last year we had the convention in September during a holiday weekend instead of around the end of October like we usually do. Now we're back the way it's supposed to be and if pre reg is any indication, we're hoping for a spike in attendance. *crosses fingers* Though if we do get any bigger, we will need to move the convention to a new location which means moving from a hotel to a convention center and we're not sure how we feel about that yet. But, we'll see I guess.

*laughs* For me, it would depend on the size of the spider, and where it was. If I have the means to, and the spider isn't too big, I'll try and get it outside. If it's huge and in my personal space, then goodbye spider.

Awww, why thank you, lady! I still think I suck at perspective; I desperately need practice. I should probably force myself to draw stuff that has more extreme perspectives....
I'm really starting to enjoy drawing mechs; I've finally convinced myself that it's okay if my mechs don't look exactly like the cartoon.
Thanks for the wonderful comment, lady; I appreciate the support.

*cackle* Thanks! Yeah, for some reason that stuck in my head; I figured if Wheeljack insisted on following Crystal around with that spider, the girl would automatically go for higher ground, where he'd have a harder time reaching. XD

*cackle* Awesome, Wheeljack deserves some love! Nah, I don't think any of the Transformers would be afraid of any kind of organic insect or predator, really...considering they're covered in alien metal armor. XD I know my fear of spiders would be considerably lessened if I knew that there was no way they could bite me. XD

Gah..yeah, rattlesnakes I can do without. I think they're neat-looking and I love the different patterns on their backs; but yeaaahh. Oh, and they taste good, too.
Yeah, we're a bit too wet and cold in the Willamette Valley to have rattlesnakes, but there are PLENTY in Eastern Oregon and up in the higher desert places. I have to worry about them when I go up to Central Washington to visit my friends too. That and tumbleweeds; those things are nearly as ornery as rattlesnakes. XD

Zanne In reply to peppykitty [2008-09-24 23:16:19 +0000 UTC]
Oh, there isn't one where I live; we're too temperate, really. Rattlesnake is eaten all over, though, by those willing to try it. There are places in Eastern Oregon where it's more plentiful, because the rattlesnakes are.
The biggest "Rattlesnake Roundups" I think are found in Texas and Georgia. I think the absolute largest one is in Sweetwater, TX. From the videos I've seen, it's quite something to see. I'm by no means an expert on this; I just know what tastes good. *grin*
