Description
First completed picture in a large project with Kamada Digital. I was asked to create a mascot for them, and I created this girl (known as "KD Queen" for the time being) through a series of drawings and redesigns. She has more active attire, which will be showcased once the other images are in circulation, but this is her relaxing as the title suggests. The idea was that this is for the off the air image for the Kamada Digital streaming channel ( [link] ), so I wanted to show her "taking a break" just like the stream. The group has its roots in fighting games, so I decided to include several "in jokes" such as the pringles, and the very Street Fighter Alpha centric comic that you see her read.

I decided the many of the ways I was handling things this past fall just wouldn't cut it, at least not for this image. Thus the return to a simpler shading style with less effects overall, but with an increased focus on dynamic line weights which I have begun experimenting with more recently. I've also been looking at the art of Kimura Takahiro heavy heavily recently, and have been trying to emulate some of the things he does in his work, especially for "KD Queen". I really enjoy the time I spend working on this character, and I hope you like her too.
