I'm not entirely sure if it's different for Undertale, but bones actually do have blood vessels within them, so I don't see why skeletons wouldn't have blood? o:

Skeletons do have conveniently placed ketchup packets though, a la Sans. Maybe with that closed sweater on he felt that his eyesocket was a teensy bit more convenient

Seesh, no wonder his view on humanity is so bad. Yet, he's still alive, so that means one of two thingsβ¦either A) the human spared him, for whatever reason, or B) someone else took the metaphorical bullet. If it was B, then who was it? A fellow monster, or perhaps even one of the few remaining family members he had? That might justify his self-loathing, but I have another idea.
What if it was another human? What if seeing another human killed by his/her/their own species was what convinced him that all that was good with that species also died on that day? And if the human looked like Chara, perhaps was even one of their ancestors, that might explain why heβ¦toleratedβ¦the fallen human as much as he did. Either because he was reminded of the human who saved his life, or recognized Chara as one of their possible descendants. Thus Chara/Asriels death would hit him especially hard for another reason besides the obvious. It could mean that he thought he failed not only Asgore and Toriel and everyone else in the past, but also the one human who ever did anything nice for him.
Is it unlikely? Yes. Am I reading too much into this? Probably. Is this my headcanon anyway? Yes, and I'm sticking to it!
