This has been building for a while, it was bound to break eventually. Sans’s insecurities here are all things that have either been not-so-subtly implied to him (like here , here , here , here , or here ) or outright said to his face , and he’s also still haunted by how he was used to try and get Papyrus to kill something and how his most recent attempt to protect him ended in total failure . It wears on you. Papyrus has known about his "condition" since they were babybones but had no idea how deep his feelings about it ran.
(Way to not give him emotional issues , Gaster)
Papyrus has indeed had a scar on his neck since he had that neck brace . It may be hard to see at points but it’s there! He still has it in the future , even. And Sans did indeed tell Papyrus not to let Gaster get to him , haha. LOT OF BACKLINKS THIS ROUND
Sans is glowing a little bit of Papyrus's color there.

this next part really made me emotional! i really enjoy youre comic and i DOGGYgirlDUBSTEP and i have been having so much fun writing the story based on this comic. Your comic is the best form of inspiration in forms of art that i haven't posted. I mostly thank you for totally letting us write a story based off of your comic!

my mind just loves to get depressing: i just thought of the fact that Sans could have chosen to distance himself, emotionally, from Papyrus, in an attempt to make Gaster think that using them to manipulate the other wouldn't work anymore
well, due to the buttload of au canon, that isn't quite possible anymore
though, not everything has to be canon, and not everything in an au is controlled by one creator, heh

Orange is sometimes used to represent bravery. How how much braver can you get than to stand in the way of someone you KNOW is a killer, when everyone else is running in fear from them, and ask them to stop what they're doing?

well that's fair i just think while he does have lots of bravery he has an overwhelming amount of kindness. i mean while that's rave he was offering a hug of forgiveness and even in the moments of being killed he says he still believes you could be better he does't think your truly evil if that's not kindness i don't know what is
