And so it goes, all in a few seconds. Karma comes calling eventually. i'll hug you to DEATH OLD MAN
A few little notes:
-Sans approaches from Gaster's blind side. Gaster mentioned being blind in that eye to Papyrus a long time ago . The same eye he blinded Sans in !
-It was the smoke that Sans was smelling in the last one.
-Seeing Alphys and seeing her with the brothers, and the full ramifications of what that means for him, shocks Gaster so badly that it gives Sans just enough time to reach him.
-If Gaster hadn't been so resistant about safety rails , they probably would've been finished in that section.
-Sans did not expect anyone to catch him.
-There was a small window of time where Papyrus could have caught Gaster with blue magic and saved him, and he would have, too... if Gaster hadn't severely traumatized Papyrus about using blue magic .

I'm pretty sure, had they remembered of Gaster's existence, Papyrus would have felt so bad about not being able to save Gaster. That fact would've haunted him for a very long time, and Sans would have to deal with Paps feelings even if Sans would've been very happy with Gaster being gone.

technically... if i remember gaster speaking it seems as though gaster isn't dead but more so forgotten and erased from the universe and stuck in the void he has made some comebacks to the universe but nothing that would affect it to remember him

Oh. My. God. He... He thought that he can finally do something to help his brother, to take his suffering away, to stop Gaster from hurting him. He doesn't care about himself, not a single bit, all he wants is just his brother to be happy. He said he would give up everything just to help Papyrus to a better life, one that he deserves. He would have given his life and more for him. If that is not the most wonderful example of pure, caring, brotherly love, then I don't know what is.

Sans can't feel, can he? He blames Gaster for all of the bad stuff and just wants to stop feeling the pain and suffering.
Sans just wants to kill Gaster, and doesn't care if he goes with him, just as long as he is dead.

Seems he was going to erase himself, too. Wonder if it may have been a combination of wanting to kill Gaster and not wanting to live life/not caring about anything (depression). Just....tired. Maybe he felt it was a 'relief,' not having to exist....not having to feel depressed anymore....

i like gaster as much as i hate any other villain who goes off a theory they believe is something that'll fix everything but the methods in doing it are bad
gaster isn't "totally" what he does is still torture so he's still evil but he does it for a cause he believes is right and for trying to save asgore from going crazy whit power
even if he has to torture his creation for the answer he so desires
