Gaster didn't include this in the story he told Papyrus , but to be fair, I doubt he could tell anyone this.
Asgore isn't lying to his journal - as far as he knows, there really weren't any survivors. At least, none that he can remember now.

Probably one of the last people to ask this, but why is Gaster's face white and glitchy, but in the first and third comic it wasent?

Its kinda complicated. The reason Gasters head is white and glitchy is is because its the lost soul head. If you remember, at the end of the Undertale true pacifist route, you see all of your friends with that white glitchy head because no one remembers them. And Gaster fell into the core, which for some reason completely erases the concept of you from the time line. In the other time lines that zarla has made like Mercyplates, you can see Gasters face because he never falls into the core.

Then why is his head glitches before he falls in? Also, his head is fine in chapter 1, glitchy in chapter 2, fine again in chapter 3, but then glitchy for the rest of the sires?
