Sans is actually the weakest monster, "easiest" as said by the "Check". Can only do 1 damage, has 1 HP, 1 ATK and 1 DEF.
He's just really good at dodging, takes away your invincibility and delivers karma.
So he's not the strongest, actually the weakest, but he is the hardest. Probably even the hardest boss in any indie game, I'd say.
A boss that only has 1 in every stat. That is so ironic.

Definitely. But I don't think that's why he was glowing. I know that the emotional tie is Zarla's theory, but it makes sense. We see him glow yellow when under stress. It makes sense. It would have been more of emotional thing. Because even though he might not be giving his all, why threaten someone with oly half your power?

We all know the smile, Sans is supposed to be represent someone with depression.
For all we know, he is trying to make the player give up.
But harming a kid that he probably likes Frisk, Of course not romantic, but as a friend.
Put yourself in his shoes, or slippers or...flip-flops at the matter,
Would you be able to continue killing a person you care about because something else is controlling them?

No one is ever controlling Frisk. Chara is never told be controlling them. If your talking about the player, then they are in control through pacifist too. Sans never really has an emotional attachment to Frisk in any way other than the true pacifist. Even if they are your friend, his hope is to make you stop. If he uses his full power, how much more effective would that be?
Chara is never shown to be evil. Even on the genocide ending, she says she disagrees with you and the reason you get Chara at the end of true pacifist after doing genocide, is because they are punishing you.
Also, now I will forever think of Sans wearing flip flops. Thanks.

I know, I did not say Chara is evil and they are controlling them, But to Sans, we all know he isn't talking to Frisk, but he is talking to us. Also bear in mind that Sans does indeed remember resets, he probably remembers the good things we did, or Frisk did in his eyes atleast in the pacifist runs.
Also the promise probably got him attached emotionally to Frisk anyway, because screw it, Dad Sans for life.
I also don't believe Chara is evil, or atleast THAT bad as the majority of the fandom sees them.
Also, those flip-flops are his battle flip-flops, he fights with the strenht of probably 2590295029502 men with his battle flip-flops.

I can see that. It's very conflicting how he feels towards Frisk to me. On one hands, he could be emotionally attached. Especially after the promised with Tori. However, he also tried to distance himself from pretty much anything that isn't a cool skeleton brother or mysterious goat mum behind the door.Β

uhh i strongly agree on that, i even think he doesen't give his best because his goal isn't to kill you
he wants you to quit and reset, but if he just kills you you would just simply reset and start the fight all over again
so he tries to drive you insane by just kicking your butt enough that you can't passt him but won't die either
and eventually just give up- hes not attacking you but your determination
