Hey, remember way back when when I said something was afoot in the Core ?
jazaaboo designed the monster that falls, it's called a Pterofractl! |D It loves math and "inventing" and "solving" math problems, but actually knows nothing about even basic math and generally has no idea what it's doing most of the time. It’s a poor flier because it always gets too caught up in 'calculating' flight vectors and angles and parabolas and such, thus why it didn’t fly itself to safety.
I was originally going to use the mole in the hardhat from the Mettaton Hotel, but when I went and checked it was completely wrong for what I had in mind, so instead I used a really obscure cameo from an old Sierra game I’m willing to bet nobody has played, haha. If any of you recognize him I'll be very surprised.

Sooo, Gaster. You WILL shoot lasers into children's eyes, resulting in headaches, blindness and hallucinations, to explore a theoretical concept... and beat a child into a semiconscious delirium, to discourage the theoretical event of a child using blue magic against you... but you DON'T see the point in installing guardrails on narrow, shifting platforms above a lethal drop, in an area frequented by monsters that show signs of being profoundly mentally handicapped.
Somebody get this guy some hard liquor, and make sure he ingests enough to affect his judgment. From where it is now, the quality of his decision-making and conclusion-drawing skills has nowhere to go but up.

Though, back to Undertale, that could make an interesting backstory for Asgore. Maybe his father was the king at the time of the war, and was highly zealous in his pursuit of security - hence the dangerous traps like spikes. Asgore disapproved, and later worked on getting rid of the more hazardous puzzles, much to the confusion of Gaster and the dismay of Papyrus. After all, children LOVE deadly spikes! If you meet any children, you should ask them.

My sister and I played that game to death when we were little, to the point where I heard that guy's voice in my head when I was learning the periodic table of elements in school.
On a side note, it would be interesting to see one of your more serious/dramatic comics with Gaster's normal head instead of the Lost Soul version.
