FirstPrevious
Next, sort of
Spoilers: it does. Another benefit to doing these out of order! I totally referenced the final battle in Earthbound too, score.
This would probably be the first time they've seriously fought about something or raised their voices at each other. They're scared and in pain and aren't really handling this very well. No one is happy with this.
(Gaster isn't handling it very well either, not that he's going to admit it)
If you really want to feel bad, a lot of their conversation still applies if they were talking about you the Player, haha.

There aren't really very many good English onomatopoeias for really deep long gasps, that's what the first GGGHHHH noise is meant to be. Hopefully that came across? Oh well.

Odd question, but if Gaster is their only link to knowledge in general (meaning they only know what he's shown them), how did they know about "god"? Does that mean Gaster has given them religious texts of some form? Interesting thought as to what he would hope *that* could possibility accomplish... unless the idea of god came instinctual to them.

Nah, they just heard him use god in exasperated or annoyed contexts before and picked it up from him (he does it in the one where Papyrus loses his arm for example). They don't know who or what god is aside from a random sentence interjection, haha.

It's mentioned in a previous comic that they're provided reading material.
Although, given monsters association with magic and souls and stuff like that, the idea of God being instinctual to them is an interesting idea...

No, I think Haster just said sometimes "for god's skae and stuff", I dont think he gave them anything related to religion XD

I know i should feel bad for the brothers, but I just want to hug Gaster! I mean. In his head he is doing what he is doing for the sake of his people. He is not okay with hurting them and he even desired to just be a family but couldn't bring himself to that because he viewed it as selfish and would mean the end of all monsters.
Papyrus is right in some ways. Gaster DOES have good in him, he just tries to turn it off alot

My personal prediction for the cause of Gaster's disappearance in this comic (assuming he doesn't get thrown into the core by Sans) is, after finally breaking down under all the guilt he's been repressing, he tries to Reset to undo his mistakes. Naturally, being a monster despite his brilliance, it doesn't work properly, and his existence is spread backwards across the timeline like butter across toast. That's why nobody remembers anything about him, but the effects he left on the world still remain.

I swear, the longer I get into these comics, the more I find myself desperately clinging to the reassurance that they're all going to forget about this eventually... you depict the psychology of all three of these characters so realistically, I feel like I'm reading an actual police report on a case of child abuse or something...

Gah, this is so well done. I want to wrap poor papyrus up in a hug, then a comfy blanket, and feed him something soothing. And Sans... he needs a Gaster-shaped punching bag that's actually made out of Gaster. There's still a spark of something redeemable in the doctor, but we all know he's going to snuff that out or bury it so deep that only something incredibly powerful and enlightening will ever get it back again. But if that happens, the weight of what he's done might just crush him.

Alright, this has given me more evidence to Gaster’s final fate (my hypothesis, at least)
Please note, i’m really just trying to read between the panels because thats what I do whether or not this becomes cannon, only time will tell.
We first take two children that are completely innocent. One is incredible docile, the other hostile. Surprisingly, they are attached to each other, even calling each other brother.
The smaller, more intelligent, hostile one start figuring things out, such as the fact that the brothers are secret. At this point, he’s still being treated pretty well.
Suddenly, their creator starts mistreating him and he quickly puts two and two together, unlike his brother. This knowledge in of itself is dangerous, but he cannot really use this knowledge to his advantage yet, since he is incredibly weak.
He is incredibly attached to his brother, the one their creator abuses the most. Knowing his cannon sense of vengeance, this makes him a ticking time bomb.
The only thing he lacks is the power to seal his master’s fate. But what happens when he gets this power? Then, combined with his will to get revenge and his ability to problem solve and piece together evidence makes him the single most dangerous being to Gaster. All he has to do is wait for the right time to strike.
I imagine Gatser doing something to papyrus involving the core. Sans coming to save his brother and end this torture. The creation turning on his master like an abused dog. I imagine a battle, ending with Gaster’s “accidental” fall into the core.
Of course, this is just me rambling XD

hahaha, I don't know if I could actually bring myself to do a genocide route. I love the way it opens up the world and the characters and the lore for more examination, but dang...I watched my first play through and Toriel took me by such surprise my roommate and I had to pause it for a moment. Then we got to Papyrus...that one required a fifteen minute break because I freaking couldn't stop sobbing! |D gosh this game!

haha my friend have uploaded their pacifist on our channel but hes yet to actually dare edit and begining to upload my genocide route cause they get so upset and depressed seeing all the characters get killed. i have a odd facination with killing off beloved characters in game but not so much in stories/people in real life situations. i also dont tend to get very emotionally attached to characters or monsters in a game and rarely do i see anything wrong with doing what the games meant to do aka in this case teach people "every choice you make is a choice you live with". i see so many screaming feels and how they love the characters but dont dare to go genocide cause their "feels cant handle it". now im not saying its bad, infact id say the opposite, but there is things you miss when you dont do all the paths and see what might happen if you choose not to do something. i can take another fav game of mine, S.T.A.L.K.E.R series on steam, where in the last game depending on what you do you get diffrent stories ie kill a man named noah mentions in the after game credits that after a particular shockwave called emmission a hoard of monsters appear from nowhere and kills off almost everyone in the area in the game or that if you dont do the final quest and saves everyone still alive the "zone" as its called gets a bad rep and people stop going there. now i am only assuming you have not played the game and if so id actually recommend it however if you have tried it i bet you can agree with me even with all its flaws its a great game just like undertale is .

I've not heard of it. I'll have to check it out. ^^ But seriously, though, yeah. For how absolutely heartbreaking it was to even just watch, it's strangely attractive, this whole, "well, what if I did this or didn't do this?" sort of deal. Just another part of what makes Undertale so freaking amazing (and sometimes maybe a little infuriating! XD)

yea... ive yet to even face undyne and im dreading the moment i have to XD but sans??? im afraid ill be tossing out my computer by the end of it XD either pure anger or joy i will not know until i get there XD also the reason i enjoy doing the genocide route is this, i am of a teaching mentality meaning i want to play games, show how its done and the story behind all things and not just one side, which is why i like genocide cause so, so, soooo many have done pacifist or neutral by mistake.... but few actively work to show genocide and tell the story of that side of the game.
on a side note dont buy stalker clear sky its a waste of money. its the second game of the 3 but its also the buggiest and you need to spend hours trying to find patches for the game or mods. i spent 2 weeks trying to find a way to fix a issue with the emissions that happen in the game which cause all people to run away or vanish. shadow of Chernobyl isn't as buggy... but its hard as fuck to get the real ending as there's i think 6 false endings, 1 non canon ending and 1 real ending. call of pripyat is the best one and it actively tells the story of shadow of Chernobyl while clear sky is just filler to shadow of Chernobyl explaining the guy your playing as how he is really. so if your gonna buy it i suggest you take the best one and try it out aka call of pripyat but if you wanna play all stories then you should start with clear sky and then shadow of chernobyl and lastly call of pripyat depending on how story driven you are and if you wanna go through 2 buggy games before taking on the more complete one.

That's a shame... I love Undertale angst like the air I breathe most of the time, but whenever it becomes too much I can always reassure myself by remembering that I'll never Reset and they'll all be happy forever.
Thanks
