Description
As the attention of the gods turned to the surface world, many saught to stake claim for their own creations just as the goddess Diem had. Kotus , the god of storms, weather and natural chaos, scoured the planet to find the highest mountains for his children. His searches lead him to the present day Eldian Peaks of the continent Lyndiel. Here he decided to give life to his own children. However, Minoru, the goddess of the moon also sought this place for her own. They battled for days, but eventually Kotus was victorious. He created the Ervaj to mirror his own domain, a balance of the primitive and the wise.

They settled the country of Eldaim as the first species to colonize the continent of Lyndiel . Gifted and nature oriented masons, their settlements were carved into and on top of mountainsides. Hidden high above the ground from others, their separation from the rest of the world leads them to a quiet existence. They have a deep sense of community and value knowledge and art equally.

As the continent began to fill with the children of other gods they watched from above. With the ability to fly, there was no need for any connection between their settlements and the ground. As such their existence remained unknown with only a few rare glimpses having been taken. Rumors did spread of mysterious winged creatures. They believe the fury of their creator kept the gods who did share their teachings with them quiet.

Talented potters, painters, and tailors, it was their artisans that wanted to break out from their isolation and show their existence and talent to the world. This idea caused a great rift between the entire species, friends and family alike. Finally, the royal family decreed that having kept silent about their existence long enough, it was time to reveal themselves to the world. They used their wares to help establish contact with neighbors through trade. They created the Tempest Weapons.

Seeming to descend from the skies above, first contact was often met with curiosity, hesitation and even fear, no doubt perpetuated from rumors. Reception from other species varied; some welcoming them with open arms while others greatly feared them, wanting little to do with them. Though a few, cases of extreme brutality did surface and a distrust of the earthbound, those who live on land, grew. However, most do not share this view of them.

They stand at an average height between 5’11 and 6’4 tall. Short thin plumes similar to hair cover the top of their head and their shoulders, which lead into the pair of wings on their back. Their bones are much lighter and stronger than many other species. This helps keep them in the air. However, due to their body size travelling long distances often requires great rest. Their skin and the color of their feathers vary greatly from oranges and purples, to blues and reds, even golds and greens. Lighter colors often gradate into darker ones. That of their wings determines the color of their skin, eyes and the markings that decorate their bodies. Despite their feral and somewhat primitive appearance, their society structure is firm and organized.
