Description
This is a design study for the Lor. A sample representative of the design possibilities for this concept.Quick Pitch: Aladdin, Arabia, Feudal Europe.
The Lor are the people created by Fire. They are among the most populous, with plenty of their kingdoms across the land.
They have four digits on their hands and feet. Their tips are pointed. Male tend to be taller than females. Males tend to approach 7ft tall, and females average 4.5ft. Peasant females tend to be taller than noble females. Nobel males tend to be shorter than peasant males, due to leisure and overindulgence. Militant, which are only male, tend to be the tallest. In general, they have a slim, lanky build. Militant and Laborers can develop muscular builds. The leisure and overindulgences lifestyle of the aristocracy contributes to a plumper build, more common with males than females.
Their skin hues range between reds, magenta, pink and red-orange, occasionally with light color freckles. Their hair color range between red and orange. With age, their hair darkens to black. Their eyes tint in reds and oranges, with rare yellows. Their sclera are black.
Their "horns" are bone underneath with stretched skin over. They come in two varieties, outward or upward. A sharp point tends to indicate a healthy, strong, well feed person. Tall horns also indicates the person healthy upbringing. Thou overfeeding tends to round the point. Other reasons that tend to round, blunt and shorten the horns are malnutrition, starvation, stress and overall hardships during their upbringing. The bone can crack, and can be seen through the skin. The horn can completely break off as well.
Their hair grows on the bottom back of their heads, above the nape. They can also have a strip extending from the center top of their head, between their horns, down toward the nape. Men can grow full beards. Beards can be braided. Women tend to braid their hair in one or two strands. They also swing their hair around their horns. Women tend to keep their hair longer than men. both can also keep their hair short or bald. Peasants and low rank military tend to favor short and bald styles.
The Lor are a strong patriarchy. To the point that females can be considered males property. A female's identity is relative to a Male's. This relationship is held strongly by the wealthy, while the poor can be more, but not completely, egalitarian. Married females wear shackles. Wealthy wives wear shackles on both arms and legs. they are made of metal, with ornaments and intricate patterns. Azure metal is preferred over other materials as a status symbol. the shackles are linked with chains. Longer chains indicate a wealthier family. Peasants tend to only have either the arm or leg sets, rarely with both. the best material tends to be iron, with tin also being available. thou the most common material is wood. the shackles can be linked with chains, but rope is the most common way to link the shackles.
