Mandrills and drills belong to the genus Mandrillus with mandrills being M. sphinx and drills M. leoucophaeus. They are the largest of living monkeys outside of great apes and are known to display strong sexual dimorphism with males being a lot bigger and visually striking than females. It should be worth noting that despite their looks they are not closely related to baboons and should not be lumped with one another. They are in fact closer to a family of smaller sized monkeys called mangabeys.Related content
