- Update - 03 Nov 2011 -This is now obsolete and no longer works, because Google just updated their Reader's visual (finally) and this theme is not adjusted to it.
I should make another theme, because I'm not 100% happy with Googles choices, but for now I'll try using the default one.

I'm a heavy Google Reader user.
I just got tired of Reader being always so far behind Google's theme updates, and made my own update, based on some mockups around the web.
This is meant to be used with STYLISH addon!
(Chrome:"[link] or Firefox:[link] )
(maybe it exists for other browsers too, I don't know).

sorry to hear that, I prefer without favicons, but maybe it could be switched somewhere. but I don't have much time to do it right now. maybe after november.

creo que funciona en Windows 7 con Firefox o Chrome, sólo tienes que instalar el Stylish addon (existe para ambos).
si querías decir Internet Explorer, realmente no creo que exista stylish para el..

Great, but I can't get it to work in chrome for some reason. I tried with Stylish, Stylebot and as a user script, still no luck.

well... I got a very naive workaround, until I update the theme:
if you're using chrome, in the extensions tab, go to Stylish->Options
where it says Apply to-> "URL starting with" just check your address bar in google reader and put it there. in my case, it was [link] (instead of '.com' and 'https')
I didn't realise this could happen, but I don't know how to cover every country domain. I'll have to learn a bit more.

Thanks, it's such a simple fix, but it worked! Looks great now - I wouldn't be surprised if Google copied you, although with the amount of attention Reader gets, it will be a while.

but it has a lot of bugs, I just made this so it would look good with the basic stuff I use in Reader, I would have to learn a little more CSS to make a really thorough theme. my firefox theme has the same problem: I'm an amateur with little spare time

i had firefox 5.0 and last stable version (1.2) of stylish, but since i updated to firefox 6.0 and stylish experimental version 1.2.1 it seems to be working fine.

By the way, now that i'm using your neat style, i find there is a lot of space lost on the top left corner. it would be nice to get rid of the red "reader" title and push the "add suscription" button to the same level the other buttons are. i'll try to figure that out myself but i'm not sure i'll be able to...

obrigado! tem uma série de bugs de amador, mas como a google mais cedo ou mais tarde deve actualizar o interface do Reader achei que valia mais a pena aproveitar as férias para a praia do que para aprender CSS
