Green Tree Python, today at the Berlin Zoo. I love the eye, and the emerald colour. Sweet creature.Lens: Sigma 50mm 2.8 EX DG macro

They are indeed beautiful animals, and this is a great shot of one. how were you able to get so close? at all the snake exibits at the zoo's here they have glass and horrible lighting so you can hardly see the animal through the glare when you take a picture

this is true, indeed the conditions were not ideal, the light was dim and zoo-glasses are thick, but gladly this buddy hung from a stick near the window and I could capture it

Very sharp. I haven't seen a snake picture on here for a long time; seems they aren't a popular subject. xD
Nonetheless, I do like this. It's very adorable, and I love the way the snake's pebbled skin looks in comparison to the background.

well, I think snakes are hard to capture - given their body shape, too. so that might be the reason why the photos of them are rather rare
