I was thinking of this kind of combo. Only Twilight is an owl, Rainbow is a turtle - a turtle tank, Pinkie a gator, Fluttershy a bunny - a bunny helicopter like in Go-Busters, Rarity a cat, and Applejack a dog. ^^ they would all have a animal form, a vehicle mode and a humanoid form.

I was going for a more old-school feel with these, where they're kinda both animal and vehicle at once (Dashie's tortoise is a jet/tank mix). I made Twi's Zord an alicorn because she is closely tied to one (and it's a twist on how several times the Red Ranger's individual Zord has been humanoid enough to be its own costume even if the others aren't - but since they're ponies...)
Fluttershy is sort of the group's Sixth Ranger in my fic, so she gets a separate Zord that kicks ass in its own right and combines with the main Megazord. I haven't drawn it yet because I'm still hashing out the combination details.

I'm redesigning it. Twi's Zord is going to be an owl and it's also going to include a rabbit Zord for Fluttershy, since Sunset Shimmer can fill the "Sixth Ranger" role in everything but number.

I'm a little confused... who are the component parts based off of? And is this based off any pre-existing Megazord?

Ah, this is from my story My Little Pony and Power Rangers, in which the focus ponies of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic get Ranger powers and team up with the G1 ponies and the original six Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (plus some other Rangers here and there down the line) to fight evil. The Zords that make up this thing are inspired by beings associated with five of the Mane 6. Twilight Sparkle's Zord is an alicorn (aka pegacorn, unipeg, winged unicorn... Alicorn is preferred for the MLP examples, because it sounds a bit smoother and doesn't contradict that they embody the traits of pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies) inspired by her mentor, Princess Celestia. The others are inspired by the associated characters' pets. Rainbow Dash's Zord is a jet/tank tortoise, inspired by her flight-harness-equipped pet tortoise Tank (who is loyal, matching the Element of Harmony Rainbow Dash embodies) as well as her flying prowess. Pinkie Pie's Zord is an alligator, inspired by her pet alligator Gummy. It has jump-springs built into the bottom to let it bounce around as its pilot does. Applejack's Zord is a wolf, inspired by her pet dog Winona. And the fact that she's sturdy and agile like a wolf. Rarity's Zord is a tiger, inspired by her pet cat Opalescence and the fact that Rarity fights with the ferocity of a cornered tiger. Fluttershy, who is the Sixth Ranger of the group (her colour is gold) has the Dragon Harmony Zord (whose design is being a bitch to finalize), which was inspired by the fact that in a pinch she's every bit as fierce as the fiercest of dragons. It resembles the dragon seen in "Dragonshy".
This was inspired by some existing Megazords yes. The Super Zeo Megazord, the Dino Megazord, and the Ninja Megafalconzord.
