Description Thankfully, when I returned home from my encounter with the bullys, my family was still out, meaning that I could inspect the creature that hatched from the egg without Chad getting in the way or Paige and my mum freaking out. Me coming home with a monster in the basket when I left with an egg would defiantly scare them. I sure as hell knew that it scared me.

I managed to calm the dogs down and told them off for jumping up at me. They always go ape when they're left on their own for too long and get over exited when someone comes home. Also I'm pretty sure that whatever is in the basket wasn't to happy about being jumped at either from the sounds it was making.

After making sure that the dogs wouldn't get into the kitchen, I carefully placed the basket onto the table and removed the tea towel from on top of the creature, which was lying down on it's stomach with it's legs tucked against it's sides. The creature looked up at me when I had placed the tea towel on to the table and, for about a minute, we just stared at each other. Then I snap myself out of the trance I had put myself in and I, carefully, placed my palms underneath its belly and lifted it out of the basket and slowly lowered it onto the table, legs first.

When I placed the creature on the table top, instead of it collapsing like I expected it too, the creature just stood there on its new, unstable legs, staring at me. It had only hatched about 20 minutes ago but, it had somehow learned to stand properly in the time it took me to walk home, and in a rocking basket no less! "So, you learned to stand huh? Your a smart little thing, aren't you." The creature chirped and purred at my statement. I guess it likes to be praised.

"Wait, can you understand me?" Yes, it may have seem silly to ask a 20 minutes old what-ever-it-is if it understood English, but it had reacted when I had called it smart. The thing chirped and nodded its head in response to my question. It really was smart if it already understood English, even though no one had taut it how. "You smart little bugger, you." I couldn't help but smile as the creature chirped and purred again.
"Alright then, before we continue this... whatever this is, I have to ask you a question. Understand?" The creature nodded in response and, slowly, lowered itself down onto the table and tucked it's legs next to it's sides. "OK then. My question is, what gender are you?" The creature just stared at me, confusion present on its face. "OK, how about this, tap the table once if your a boy..." I tap the table with my right index figure, once. "And tap the table twice if your a girl." I tap the table twice with the same figure. " Do you understand?" Again, the creature nodded and chirped. At least when I find out what gender it is, I can stop calling it 'creature' or 'it' or 'thing'.

"So, are you a boy or a girl?" The creature moves one of it's legs and taps it one the table, once. Before I can speak though, it taps the table again. "So your a girl? "I'm slightly confused about it's  answer because of how slow it had taken the thing to respond but, it nods it's head slowly. "Alright then girl, I think its time to give you a name." The crea...er she attempts to stand but falls back onto her belly. "It's harder to get back up than stay standing, trust me. "I smile and pick her up like I usually do and place her back onto her legs. She wobbles a bit but, she stands firm.

But before I even try to think of a name for her, I remember the scroll that I had found near were she hatched. Looking into the basket, I see that it's still were I left it, wedged at the back of the basket. Pulling it out of the basket, I hear curious chirps and purrs coming from the little madam on the table next to me and as I unroll it, in the corner of my eye, I see her trying to walk over to me so that she can get a better look at the scroll that I was holding.

Slowly, I unraveled the scroll and carefully read its contents:

Dear finder of the lalna line egg,
You are one of the lucky few to be given the job of looking after this very special line of yogpets.
The yogpet that you where lucky enough to hatch is called a venopup and an con only be hatched n toxic and polluted areas, as you have already found out. This rare and very elusive yogpet eats virtually anything and has been made so that it is able to understand human speech without being taught. Look after this pet and I hope to see you soon, Deanna.
      -Lalna

Right now I don't know whether to be happy that I finally know what the thing on my table is or to be scared that lalna had referred to me by name when in the scrolls other deviants had received hadn't said their names. And the fact that he knows my name when I haven't even so much as commented on any yogscast channel, is very worrying. A lump in my throat prevents me from swallowing the bile that has been rising from my stomach, but I somehow managed to speak. "Well" My voice is shaky and the yogpet stares at me and quietly chirps at me. She probably asked if I was all right. "I think I know what to call you now." I force a smile and, as a result, the yogpet seems to smile as well. "How does 'veno' sound?" The newly dubbed veno chirps happily at the name that I've given her.

"Now then, You hungry?" She bobs up and down whilst chirping happily at me. "Heh, I'll take that as a 'yes'."
