Description
I used to draw these guys when I was a kid in junior high. I had Duck Vader and duck troopers, but the rebel characters didn't translate so well.Related content

I found a clip of that episode on youtube. I see the resemblance. That Duck Vader is really nice looking with a different color scheme. I am guessing it was for copyright reasons maybe? or maybe the color scheme was thought to be more kid-friendly?

I think copyright wouldn't have been an issue. It's a parody for one thing (which is why Dark Helmet was able to exist), and Steven Spielburg and George Lucas are good friends, so Lucas wouldn't have had a problem with Spielburg parodying his work. The color scheme is probably due to the fact that matte black is notoriously hard to animate because it swallows up shadows and thus is hard to give shape, which is why they usually use dark blue instead. The helmet can be black because it's shiney and they can use white for the highlights to give it shape.

That's a really good point. I didn't consider the Spielberg Lucas connection. In any case, I think the TTA designs are pretty cool looking, so I made a new picture with the TTA design. [link] Enjoy
