Tanzia Fawkes had known that returning to Corescant would be foolhardy, but the benefits far outweighed the risks. The Empires order of Execution for the Jedi Order had depleted those who would be able to identify gifted individuals to a scant few, and they were in hiding from the Emperors troops.

She had avoided the Purges by traveling with her husband, Liam Fawkes. At one time, he had been a member of the Corellian System Defense Force, during which she and Liam married, and had retired when the Empire attached the SDF as part of the Imperial Navy. He acquired an old freighter, slightly converted and modified, and turned to freelance work to support them. It had been her home for nearly three years, even giving birth to her son, Jonji on the creaky old freighter. But the Purges were becoming more of a danger to them, being able to find them by her Force Sensitivity, which had alerted her to a powerful presence in the force on Corescant and had to be investigated.
Liam had not been pleased, but he understood that she had a task to perform. She was, after all, a Jedi. She left her husband and son, and took passage to Corescant.

It took little time to find the presence. Oddly enough, it was in a dance club where she found Ibki Da, a young Twi’lek who had no idea of her potential. Before she had a chance to speak to her, Imperial troops entered the club, making arrests of the Patrons. Apparently the authorities for hosting subversive elements had noticed this particular club, which was not to be tolerated. If arrested, Ibki would be found to be a Force Sensitive, and her potential would end there. Tapping into the Force, she clouded the minds of the Troopers, and led Ibki to the only possible escape route open to them.

The Sewers of Corescant were well known as a travel route for those who wished to avoid attention. Fortunately, the club was on the upper levels of the city, so the Sewer network was not as hazardous as the lower levels. It was still expansive, however, and Tanzia needed a guide. They found a R5 unit, who gladly acted as guide. As the traveled, the Jedi informed Ibki of her untapped talent. Oddly enough, the young Twi’lek seemed to accept what the Jedi had told her at face value. This struck Tanzia as odd. Older sensitive generally refused to believe in their force potential, unless they had been approached before. She would have to learn more about this woman.

A sudden chill ran down Tanzia’s spine, the familiar feeling of those who were practitioners of the Dark Side of the Force. They quickened their pace, as did the Dark Presence that was following….

The Droid had led them into a Storage chamber, with three access corridors to choose from…all of which were closed. The presence was getting closer, and now the Mechanical breathing could be heard, echoing from the way they had come. The Doors were rusted shut. There was no choice but to face the Darksider. The mechanical breathing was now intolerable, and a shape appeared in the darkness from the only open passage, causing Ibki to shrink to the ground, screaming. The Snap Hiss of a lightsaber pierced her ears, and by its red illumination she could see her foe. She knew she would not leave this Chamber alive, never seeing her Husband or Son again. All she could do give time to Ibki to escape this creature…

She ignited her own saber, the blue blades illumination cutting through the evil red glow…..
