ah yes, it is the stressful season of the year. so what do I do? exactly. make a last minute show entry because your one Scottish character will forever hate you if he doesn't get a chance to enter : D hope I'm not too late though yesterday was a bit chaotic T.T
gonna get through my inbox in the next couple weeks hopefully

S T O R Y :

It had been a dewy morning and Ash stood on a small dune, viewing the sea, inhaling the fresh air. The sun had risen not too long ago and there was still some drops left in the grass, making it glitter more than usual in the soft sunlight. He had been excited, more than usual in fact. His stallion stood beside him, ready to mount, a wild Obertaurer. He had seen his 'home', lived in his home for years now, but that day was the day when he could show his horse where he grew up. It was quite different, the grass tasted different, the air felt different... he wondered if Jude got used to it in that short amount of time to be ready to tackle that next challenge together. Ash had been so worried about dressage yesterday and was so glad it was over. Part of him didn't want to know the results, the scary look on Riley's face basically said everything. He had never been such a precise rider, he had learnt to trust Jude and trust in some of his decisions as well, but for some reason it felt different that day, like Jude wasn't behaving like himself... At least he had a better feeling about today. Cross had always been their forte, even though Jude was so big and not as nimble as any other horse he had before, he was strong and his large strides made up for most of it.
When Ash mounted, it still didn't feel the same as home. But after they finished the warmup, Ash could finally put his finger on it. "He's different", Riley mentioned, leaning on the fence nearby.
  Ash stopped Jude, precisely. He was more reactive indeed. He took a moment to blink at his horse with big eyes, still barely believing it. "He... really listens to me this time. To everything."
  Riley tapped on the fence, seemingly disinterested, but in fact he felt a bit restless: "Can you handle it?"
  Ash frowned. "Of course I can! He trusts me. It's like he knows I feel... at home here."
  Riley snorted mockingly: "As if anybody could miss your accent. Poor horse had to see you in a kilt only two days ago."
  "HEY I look damn good in a kilt and you know it. Let me have this."
  Riley waved his hand, barely hiding an amused look on his face. "Fine, fine, live your dreams. But don't forget."
  Ash raised a brow, what did that man mean this time?
  "He relies on you now. He's looking at you for guidance. He needs it, you won't get away with sloppy commands this time."
  Ash remained silent for a moment, looking at that strong neck in front of him. He was still standing, so still, so patient. Listening. "It's so... weird", he brushed over his neck, "It's like... he can hear me think."
  Riley stepped back from the fence: "Then be careful what you think." He smirked a little: "Good luck."
  "HA HA very funny."
  "Just go. Before he changes his mind."

unfortunately I could not convince my scottish boy to wear a helmet, not on home turf xD that irresponsible manchild, dw Riley is gonna smack him for losing points on that later
Iii did not chose one of the presented obstacles but I made my own, a 'sandcastle' based on this one here because whenever I went sightseeing in scotland there were at least 1028321 castles/castle ruins to see every day xD not complaining though, never get tired of them ~
