Description
Well, trying to get the hang of Painter to do the bulk of my charcetr CG works from now on (and any other CG for that matter) and here's the current steps I take to finish a simple character paint job in it.Its nothing much of a tutorial, and also probably nothing that most of you wouldn't already know, but I hope it helps x_X
Oh yeah, you gotta hit 'Download' on the left navi bar to view this.

Hmm... well that's pretty cool. Now a question: is this "Painter" thing free?

Adobe Photoshop CS 2 and Coel Painter 9, both of which are easily accessible in my school

Do you know how to do it in regular Adobe Photoshop CS?

Out of using brushes definitely, but its easier to do with Painter by default unless you have your custom brushes ready in PSCS2

Ohh nice tutorial. I typically use another technique. I computer ink the piece then I flat-colour it. After that I create new layers for shading and texture. I shade in them by first selecting the area in the flat coloured layer and then going to the shading and texture layer to do my work. I typically create textures by using different kinds of noise and plasma effects and merging them into a typically monocrome texture which is then applied by using the layer properties.
