I use to love FORCE FIVE when I was a kid ( whatΒ it was called in America ) with Gai King, Grandizer and other super robots shows rotating daily

Oh. That's neat. I recently heard of a UFO Robot Nagai made called Gattaiger. It seems to be a prototype of Grendizer.

Indeed. Gattaiger was a first concept, a kind of episode zero, of what was later called Grendizer.
They mostly changed the appearance of the robot to make it more like a "third Mazinger" to create (and conclude) a trilogy.

Even so, I really like the design of the robot! I just downloaded Mazinger Anthology & there's a story in thereΒ where Grendizer & Gattaiger team up! It's pretty amazing!

I'm not sure that Raydeen is a Go Nagai's work...

Very very awesome work, though i didnt think Go Nagai had designed gakeen.

PS: According to Japanese Wikipedia page of Gakeen, Go Nagai is one of the authors... I think he didn't designed the robot, but only cooperated to an general concept of the anime, inspired by his previous magnetic robot, Koutetsu Jeeg.

According to wikipedia (in italian) Gackeen is a work of Go Nagai ([link] ), but not in the english version.
So I painted it anyway, just to be sure
