He was so tiny. She fell in love with him the moment she was placed beside her for the first time. Her little Faithful Love...

But then her husband died. She was having to work two jobs, and she couldn't bear to burden her friends, and her family was... out of the picture.

Twinkleshine couldn't afford it. A baby was so damn expensive. She loved him with all of her heart and soul, but she couldn't take care of him the way he needed... The way he deserved.

What could she do? The orphanage? With all the horrible things that could happen, she couldn't send him there. All of her friends had children already and didn't want anymore. Where could she-

The Apples.... They were full of love... The sweetest ponies you could know... Them. they were perfect.

So it was that night that she took her baby to Great Apple Acres in the dead of night, Luna's moon shining bright over them as she carried her precious cargo.

Her dim, chartreuse magic lit up the stoop as she pulled the little bundle out from her cloak. He was startled, and let out a shaky cry.

"Shhh! It's OK baby. It's OK." Her voice was gentle as she stared at her son for what she knew would probably be the last time. "Mama's here. I'm here..." She whispered.

Little Faithful Love's face went from a puckered cry, to a soft smile, a coo leaving his lips. And with that, Twinkleshine smiled a little bit too. "There we are... No need to cry. You're going to be OK..." Her voice cracked a little with heartbreak. "I-I'm gonna be OK... Your new family is gonna love you just as much as I do, my little Faith..."

Tears spilled down her cheeks as she held the babe close to her one last time, feeling his warmth upon her like she had the day he was born. This moment would repeat in her mind so often it would hurt.

Finally, with a soft kiss upon the unicorn's forehead, she laid him in the wicker basket upon the porch. She gave a heavy knock on the door, before giving her baby one final look. "Don't forget me, love..."

And with that, she ran, hiding in the acres' many apple trees.

She watched from afar as the door opened. A blue pegasus. "Oh my... AJ!" She immediately scooped the foal up, and an orange earth pony joined her. "Dash, wha- Oh Sweet Celestia!" She took the baby in her front legs and held it close.

The two looked around, and just as a grieving mother ran back to Ponyville, Rainbow Dash lifted a note that had laid beside her apparent new son.

"His name is Faithful Love. He likes it when you rock him and sing. Please love him as much as I do. I'm so sorry."
