-Both are notorious tricksters that despite their goofy shenanigans, are brilliant strategists that have outwitted far more experienced & dangerous opponents.

-They have special abilities (Hamon and Molecular Acceleration) that glow a bright color (yellow and purple) that they usually imbue objects that make them explosive, although both have demonstrated to be *very* creative with them.

-Both predominantly use them in combination with items associated with games (Clackers and Playing Cards), playing into their deceptive nature.

-They have these powers due to being a part of extremely small percentage of people. (Only one in ten thousand people can use Hamon according to William Zeppeli and an estimated 0.05% of the world’s population are mutants after M-Day)

-Both also use weapons that glow purple for longer ranged attacks. (Hermit Purple and Bow Staff)

-Both are heavily associated with Western Europe while currently reside in America. (Joseph being born in England later becoming a real estate mogul in New York and Gambit being Cajun)

-Both would debut in series that are their creators most popular work (Hirohiko Akri with Jojo, Chris Claremont and Jim Lee with Uncanny X-Men) that still influence stories to this very day.
