Description A million miles, and many places.
Worn out memories,
and washed out faces.
The time between, now and then
slowly slipping away.

Countless stars and galaxies.
Beyond our bright-blue sky.
Such misfortune in losing
the innocence I once enjoyed.

So hard to believe I was young
with little concept of the world around.
Eventually I was bound and gagged
my sense of self devastated in the struggle
of holding on to who I used to be.

Now primed for the immense rigors of life.
(Getting out of bed seems like a chore.)
But I go about my days like a machine
so well built and oiled
that a breakdown would seem obscene.

When the hands of time
have had their way with me.
I'll look back to the days
when the sunshine mattered.
