Description
ランチャー・オクトパルド/Launcher OctopuldThere were quite a few oddities with this sheet-- namely there were a few gaps to fill in. I left his legs alone during the spin (corrected gif is elsewhere in my gallery) but I filled in the hole in the back of his head and the places where his missiles were miscolored by being transparent!
I was on the fence about leaving in the black line to help align the whirlpool effect (and the flipped sprites). The fishie-torpedos would make a full circle if I were to have copied & rotated (Interesting side-note, the SNES wasn't able to do a 90 degree rotation by itself, though the GBA could) but you've got all the sprites I could find and rip. I'm convinced that's all of them.
I went a little overboard and made 12 palettes for this guy, but the last three were kinda worthless, so I scrapped 'em. I mean, many octopuses can change color, so it's not totally out of nowhere. I worked to keep each color within the range of what the SNES would output (divisible by 8, so the hex value always ends in a 0 or an 0, with F8 being the highest value, though F0 is more common). Kinda bums me out that the colors get messed up to make a gif.
So we'll call the last 3 Start, 3 punches, & 3 kicks for "character selection"
I try to base "P2" on the MegaMissions redesigns (worked better than some), and P7 is based on the box-art
I had a hell of a time ascertaining each would look like underwater, but the water effect is easily mimicked with a semi-transparent layer (50%) with the hex value: 2058A0
Neat, huh?
