This was taken in Nihiki, which is straight east of Aomori on the coast of Northern Japan. It was spring, and a huge storm passed through the pacific and hit the northern tip and we had lots of storms that month. And then came the mist. Days would go by with huge pockets of mist, and all you could hear were all the frogs!
And green, Katie used to call me the green guy, with all my Japanese photographs with green in them. I still have no clue why most turned green hues, but that's for other people to decide. I just took pictures when I was there.

apparently pushing the exposure of some coloured films will create a green hue... you just tortured all of your shots in moody low light.

Some films are like that, like fuji! Sometimes it's printing with too much green!

For me, it looks as thought some alien ship has landed in the cluster of trees.
I know it's overused but it really does look mysterious and magical.

the scene of the river (lol), when there are a lot of battles (double-lol), in which there is a bridge near (aha!) and it almost looks like fireworks (it's hell)... to say more I'd have to see the movie again to refresh memory and take note of the time! :B

And I also love how the green light seems to pour upwards from the cluster of dark trees. It's as if the little boat is sailing towards it, towards something eerie and magical...
