Description
So, I am a longtime fan of Imogen Heap (I had first heard of her when Come Here Boy was released, and I found out she had a link to Nik Kershaw, whose music I very much liked then...and admittedly still do now.Anyway, I have been wanting an excuse to doodle Ms. Heap for some time, but never got around to it until I heard of her "Heapsong" project, which I find quite novel and innovative, in much the same vein as what artists like NIN and Marillion have been doing recently.
Since the deadline is essentially today, and I had a full day of meetings and such lined up, I was only going to get an hour or two in to try to contribute something -however atomically small- to the collection of "stuff"...and so here it is.
Took a few passes, but I eventually got what I think is a likeness (based off a few reference stills from the very video she announced this with) using a Japanese brush nib pen on 96-pound bristol. I will probably do some significant color work to it when I have more time (maybe in time for my April cafe show).
As to why I have her singing in bass clef, I simply prefer the aesthetics of the bass clef. Nothing against treble, but it's just not a fit.
