hey, great artwork here, and your handwriting is quite good. Just a little comment about the title, the noun is 'tasadum' with an a.

No. I know a few rudimentary aspects of Arabic (MSA), but that is about it.

good work, I love the tectures and the (tasadom) word.
and the colors make a tasadom between white and orange. but I think the word it self need some modifications becuse you write it with a smoth and soft line and to help the concept I think you may be write it using sharp lines with contrast in the line thickness...just an opinoin
overall it a great work

how do you pronounce it (since that would radically affect how it looks in Arabic)?

i love the ammount of effort that seems to go into each and every one of your pieces. all the uses of different inks and pens and other tools shows a true taste and tallent in your skills. if i could award you some sort of award for being one of my favorite artists i would, unfortionately that a) wouldn't mean anything and b) wouldn't get you anywhere. But just know your work is greatly appreciated by at least one person more than any other. I greatly enjoy this piece of work.

really dig how you're balancing the colors in the background allowing the text itself to serve as a 'break'
where the two meet albeit chaotically. very stylish in a way. but you've always had a great eye for layout design
even when you're being spontaneous. makes for nice contrasting dynamics.
ok. now i've gone and used up all my good words. dangit!

I speak very little, and can read only a few recognizable words (although I do have a grasp of the aphabet and diacritical marks)

where do you look up the words? I wanna "learn"/copy some calligraphy. Japanese or Chinese writing..I want to integrate them in my work..but can't find a place to have good and reliable examples. Any clues? Maybe a webpage even?

Well, for Arabic, I have mostly relied on the texts I have at home (I took one class last summer and look to take more when time permits), particularly the The Hans Wehr Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic. I need to get more materials on Arabic script styles, as there are several recognized ones in common use (my current favorite is the very angular Kufic script), but most books I find on Islamic art is usually related to the geometric aspects of their architectural styles.
I have used Japanese kanji over the years as well, and have relied on a small student dictionary and books from the library on Japanese calligarphic techniques, which are usually easier to acquire.

As commented on the previous of this set, the choices of colours are phenominal! I really like this branch of your artwork.

wow... the color selection is perfect. That orange-ish texture of a color is beautiful. I want my bedroom walls to look like that orange color with all the texture.

I may be getting a little biased here
What do you prefer to speak- colloquial Egyptian arabic, or classical?

I can barely 'speak' anything at all. I have so far been only able to take one compressed intro course (it was MSA + Colloquial Egyptian with a little bit of Levantine). I do think I understand the alphabet and most of the diacritical/vocalization marks. I also have no discomfort reading from right to left. But my grammatical structure is very rudimentary.
I would like to over time, find ways to learn more (including taking more courses). I have been fascinated with the Middle East and Arabic script for years, and have just been very slow in getting to learn the language itself. There simply are not a lot of resources in the Bay Area for utter n00b speakers to get more immersed, and online has been pretty spartan as well.
Oddly enough, my one instructor said I had generally good writing skills (albeit somewhat unorthodox) and that my ability to grok the sounds (including khaa, ghaiym, etc) was fairly solid.

sounds good so far!
Once you manage to break it down, arabic is (grammatically) a very simple language.
The thing I love most about it is the fact that everything MEANS something. English seems to be such a face-value sort of language. Arabic is so romantic! For example,in arabic Saba-al Khayer (good morning) means 'Morning of goodness", the reply 'Saba al noor' "morning of light". If I walked into a room and said "Morning of Light, everyone!" I'd be laughed at.
A little romance never hurt anyone
