Description
"The borderline personality disorder is one of the most delicate but perhaps most sinister of monsters. The gather is small swarms around their victims and use pheromones to heighten the emotions of said victim, before feeding off on the emotion itself. They feed upon any emotion but tend to favor feelings of depression. The monster is made almost completely of a clear ice, rendering it invisible. Only the maple shaped leaf on its tail is visible to the naked eye and looks like a falling leaf. At times, when the monster gorges itself too much on any given emotion its can overwhelm them and they simply shatter like glass."
(I altered the presentation of this monster and the rest in the series becuase they felt too static and grey)

I took this the wrong way at first but I see now itβs about the disorder itself and not people suffering from it. This is a cool concept and the wording and depiction is interesting, good job.Β

I have BPD and this is spot on. My one friend showed this to me, and I had to at least leave a comment. This is awesome!

I didn't know about that disorder, but seems to be a real monster, and more if you don't know and as you said is iinvisible like ice,
nice way to portray it!

I am in LOVE.
I was a bit worried when I read "sinister" and the small swarms bit, and I thought "oh no, it's going to end up as one of those 'people with BPD are evil and horrid' stigma things", but I read on and I'm SO pleased!
Masterfully handled, and definitely being fav'd.
(I don't know if I've asked this before, so I apologise if I have, but do you suffer from mental health difficulties yourself? I'm just nosey like that. )
BPD is one of my personal diagnoses, and as someone who has suffered a lot due to MI stigma, I want to say thank you so much for what you're doing because these are a great way to reduce stigma.

Aww super! Im glad you like.
I saw this monster more as one that causes the disorder rather than a personification of BPD. I think some of the monsters appear to be just representations of the MI, but others like Schizophrenia actually cause the MI and feed off of it kinda thing.
I felt that BPD wasn't quite as known as other illnesses and that to me it seemed to be something that could be hidden well, but can be veru serious. Hence the invisible thing, and the shattering.
Im really glad you like the design, having BPD yourself. I warms my heart to hear that the project is having a really positive reaction. I was worried at time that some people may be offended, but luckily it hasnt happened so far.
As for myself, as far as I know I only suffer from severe social anxiety. Its not too much of a problem as Im good at avoiding stressors, but its definitely becoming less of a thing as I have matured in myself.
Thank you so much for your comments!

That makes sense, definitely, especially since BPD has so many manifestations.
And you've done well to discern that it can be well hidden and very serious, as both are accurate. I think it's very well known -- but what is known isn't accurate. As a result, when diagnosed, a lot of people will say they have something other than BPD.
I'm glad nobody's been offended, I really think you're doing a great thing for the mental health community!
I had to giggle at "only" suffering social anxiety. There's no only about that! I hope it continues to ease as you mature in yoursef -- self confidence [in combination with therapies etc] can do wonders for anxiety.
And you're very welcome.

Im super glad you think I have done justice for BRP, It was very hard to come up with something from my limited knowledge of the disorder. Im still so surprised and warmed by peoples reception of this project.
And thank you so much, little by little my monster is getting more manageable. I think one weekend I might have to draw my own personal monster. I have always though of my anxiety as a monster which is what started this project, so it would be nice to start fleshing out my own one.

I'm glad to hear it! I hope you do draw your own monster, I think that could be potentially very healing. I'm not gifted at drawing so I write mine, it's the best I can do, lol.
