Description Well, I have to say, I'm proud how the Kitsune Girl came out over the Neko Girl...

If it wasn't for the tail on the Kitsune Girl, you wouldn't have known the Samurai/Fencer Neko Girl was a Neko in the first place. I had a lot of trouble on this one, since I'm not used to drawing with the paper like this, and well, the movement...

Still, I think I'll use the design from the Kitsune Girl in the future; I like how she came out A LOT!

Thanks for the idea!

I had trouble doing it, and it didn't come out good. Perfect combination, like negative times negative, which is positive.
Thanks!

I love this! Like to see how my idea take form hahaha... the movement is always difficult the most easy way is looking at a picture or even another draw and try get inspiration of it but I like very much.
If I have a time off (the university get me crazy) I will show you how the same Idea can be totaly different...
Congratulation! hope you never have a Artist Block!

It looks pretty good!
I don't know if it's supposed to be that way, but the kitsune girl's eyes don't seem to focused on anything particular. And you may want to look into anatomy a little more. Even if the legs are bent, they seem a tad too short for the upper body.
But I love the action poses (You CAN do them o_o!).
Keep up the awesome work.

zeto In reply to Hoshiko-hime [2006-10-01 22:55:55 +0000 UTC]

Hehehe Thanks!

Yeah, I still have problems with the anatomy in action poses, since I don't do them to often. The last one I did was like 3 years ago, and it's one of the OLDEST drawings I have in my gallery. Still, it's good to know the "Advanced Critique Encouraged" is working.

They are the only thing I can use, so I can only stick with the same method that I know how to use...

Well, I'm starting to get Photoshop a little, still don't get the pen tool, and I'm starting to get the Magic Tool!

Aurora-Sakura In reply to zeto [2006-10-02 00:46:00 +0000 UTC]

i hardly have any variations with the tools i use on photoshop... mostly just the paint tools and blur... haha since i just use my original picture underneath. that's the best way

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zeto In reply to Aurora-Sakura [2006-10-02 00:48:20 +0000 UTC]

Ooooooh... what I do is scan my pictures in black and white, create a thin layer for the whole body in MS Paint, add basic color in MS Paint, and Blur/Burn/Dodge/Background in Photoshop.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aurora-Sakura In reply to zeto [2006-10-02 01:23:14 +0000 UTC]

that sounds complicated... and a waste of time. you should do it all on photoshop, sooo much easier

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zeto In reply to Aurora-Sakura [2006-10-02 01:25:55 +0000 UTC]

I don't know how to yet. I'm a dissapointment for Photoshop users.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aurora-Sakura In reply to zeto [2006-10-02 06:26:46 +0000 UTC]

all you need to do is open up your project, duplicate the locked layer, turn that new layer to multipy which darkens the picture (you can lighten it before doing anything else with it if you want using the brightness/contrast things in the menues, than you create a new transparent layer (simply click new layer) and slide that one in between the other two existing layers. Viola! You have your lines showing through and you colour on the new layers you put in between the other ones^^ Use more than one layer I recommend.
There's more ways to do it, but this is just how I learned. There is also the overlay option, but I didn't know how to do that until recently.

Aurora-Sakura In reply to zeto [2006-10-02 22:00:14 +0000 UTC]

did that make sense? you can try it out

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zeto In reply to Aurora-Sakura [2006-10-02 22:04:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I understood. Make different layers from the same sketch, and then use those layers; right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aurora-Sakura In reply to zeto [2006-10-02 23:01:06 +0000 UTC]

...kinda. but the multiply option is really important to do on the duplicate layer of the original, or the pencil or pen won't show through
