Description
I don't like the Brachydios... Hear me out, it's objectively a fine monster, its concept is cool, the fight against it it fun, its music is... there (it's pretty bland, except for like 15 seconds, but hey, at least, you don't fight it in complete silence), but damn, its actual design is lame!
With it's short tail that has a weird-looking club at the end of it, its boxy head, its goofy-ass pompadour-like horn that looks like someone glued a dildo on its head, this creature really looks dumb. So, I made one that I find more pleasant.

i personally disagree with you, i think it's striking appearance makes it stand out quite a bit compared to the more normal dinosaur looking monsters
the blunt horn is probably due to it headbutting the ground so often, the pounders on the arm ar designed in a way to protect its fingers from the blasts, not make them the impact point of the punches (as this design above shows)
i can agree with the tail though, the club does seem a bit odd and less natural compared to other tail clubs in the game
i like the design above but i like normal brachydios more
interesting changing the jaw shape from a more Magocephalian look to a more tyrannosaur look

For sure, its appearance is really striking compared to other brute wyverns, but still, I think it could have looked less goofy and have less "cartoony" proportions, at least in my opinion.
It's not the fact that the horn is blunt that bothers me (the horn on my drawing is also blunt), it's the way it protrudes on its head (apparently it to give it the shape of a missle of something), the way it sits on almost the entire lengh of its skull, like it was put there instead of growing, something about this makes me feel uneasy, I don't know why. My Brachydios punches like the way we do, with the knuckles, the bones are solid and they are quite a lot of chunk to protect them from shocks, but I kinda failed to show that (also yay, non-pronated hands, I had to).
In the end if you like the original more or not, that's okay, all of this is subjective, right?

to each their own
i can see why you dislike the horn, it is in a bit of an odd angle than a usual horn would be
(oh yeah, i can see a bit of a missile shape, especially on the concept art)
i think most monsters in that game have pronated wrists, think the only ones who don;t are true flying wyverns like Rathalos and Legiana
that is something i can fully agree with

Technically, their neutral positioning is pronated as the flying wyvern skeleton have their palms facing the ground when standing. They only ever face inwards is when they're moving around.

really?
i thought they wouldn't be considering rathalos have there wings folded to the side like birds

Well if you look at any monster with the flying wyvern rig, this includes Pukei Pukei, they all have their wings set in a traverse plane folding outwards, not inwards like birds. This is especially clear in wyverns that use them for locomotion or battle often, like Diablos or Bazelguese. They're very much pronated wings, and for those 2 examples, even more with the wrists and non-wing supporting digits.

interesting
i just assumed with diablos and so it was just that they could bend them more, like how we can move our writs freely, they evolved it for more locomotion

It's weird to explain but their wings are pronated and not pronated at the same time. It's just they weirdly have 2 different postures with their wings.

yeah, it is clear that SOME bits are just the creatures having fun with the skeletons
i mean Nargacugas tail extends like 10ft every time it tail slams

The models, specifically 5th gen, don't overstretch or overflew themselves at all. Nargacuga's tail has always been longer than other wyvern tails.

i can agree, most do move pretty well
but things like glavenus bend their back strangely and nargacugas tail TOTALLY stretches, it is like double the length of the body when slammed
but i'm cool with it because it is FUN, which in the end is all that really matters
