After the events of Arkham Knight. Victor and Nora used their ship to go die together in a quiet place. Two weeks into their journey, Nora dies peacefully in her sleep and Victor waits for his end. But their ship was found by mercenaries sent by Powers Tech. They took Victor and put him on ice and sunk the ship with Nora's body still in it. Victor was brought to a Powers Tech lab and introduced to its founder, a young Derek Powers, who wants to find out what makes Victor tick and how his freeze cannons work. Having technology and weapons like that to sell to militaries around the world would boost their profits and Derek is looking to be as big as "the late" Bruce Wayne. For 20 years, Victor was tortured and at the same time kept alive to get information, but he would not break.

Months before the events of Arkham Beyond, Victor escaped from his imprisonment and disappeared in the snow covered Gotham during a blizzard. Victor, finally out, was looking to finally end his life but with his mind so broken he started seeing a vision of Nora telling him to keep going, his time is not over yet. Victor found a cold storage and started building another cryo suit and cannon. This new suit is made with nanomesh to strength his weakened body and make holding up all the heavy equipment possible. During the events of Arkham Beyond, Titan gets ahold of Freeze and hacks his suit, making him a puppet to the sick clown's control. He fights Batman who sees that Victor isn't causing chaos on his own, an outside signal is making him do these things. After the signal is broken and Victor is freed, he escaped by freezing Batman, but he does show up later to help Batman defeat Blight. After Blight is gone, the building with Batman and Freeze in it starts to come down, the radioactive and ice blasts have weakened it's structure and it would soon cave in on itself. Batman tried to save the heavily damaged Victor but he blasts a wall of ice to keep Batman from saving him. His last words were "I appreciate the sentiment, but believe me, you're probably the only one who cares "

This new suit is a combination of Mr. Freeze's suits from Arkham City and Knight as well as the one from Baman Beyond. It's sporting the wrist mounted cryo-cannons from Arkham Knight and large cannons on his back for larger, more precise ice attacks.
