What happens when you don't like an official redesign of an already cool alien ? You change it up and make even better than what it could be.I'm not a fan of the rebooted Stinkfly but I do think it could work as an alien of its own and that's what I've done here.
Hero Name: Draggin' Fly
Species Name: Anisopcheliped
Planet of Origin: Submosvegnon
Powers/Abilities: Flight, Durable Exoskeleton, Projectile Pincer Claws that be shot away from the arms and holds tight to what's in its grip and the claws can also retract back to the arms. The combination of this projectile claws and flight allow for a fun time dragging around whatever he gets his mitts on. The segmented abdomen on his back releases short bursts of energy that allows for more propulsion while in flight.

If Ben 10 had a proper reboot, maybe this could be his second to go alien in aerial combat after stinkfly.

Hate is a strong word. Like don't love would be a much better term. And to be honest I didn't know that was stinkfly when I first saw the reboot. The reason he looks different is because the animators were probably going with something a little less scary than the OS Stinkfly. But you're right this design should be it's own alien species.

The reason I think he was changed was for toys. All the aliens are sporting very humanoid designs and that makes it easier for toy manufacturers to make them instead of the very alien designs some of them had before.
I'm also changing Overflow into his own alien and not a redesign of Water Hazard. Also I'm gonna change the look of Slap Back.

Overflow looks nothing like Water Hazard except for the colors. Overflow looks more like an exoskeleton scuba diver. While Water Hazard is more of humanoid mollusk - crab thing.

Colors and powers. Anyone taking a look at them both can see that Overflow is the rebooted version of Water Hazard. He might have a more robotic look to him,but there's too many similarities to ignore between them.

Perhaps but luckily I believe I have figured out why. Since they're both from the Andromeda Galaxy and are both of the same element it is reasonable to believe that both their species are cousins, like with Diamondhead and Chromastone. When you think about it in deep thought.

Yeah, but Diamondhead and Chromastone have massive differences in design and powers. I still think that Overflow is the creator's rebooted version of Water Hazard. Pretty much everyone thinks this.

Diamondhead and Chromastone are still from the same planet, but you're right everyone has different opinions on stuff, but I still think that Overflow is Water Hazards' cousin and who knows there could be people that think the same thing.

Probably but for my sense of thinking and for my Ben 10 universe, Diamondhead is from Petropia and Chromastone is from Mor' Otesi and Overflow's body is mainly made out of pure water and Water Hazard is a crustacean humanoid that collects and shoots water.

Multiverse, son! In at least one universe out there (and mine) Mor' Otesi exists and there's many crystalsapiens, not just one (Sugilite) like in the Ben 10 prime universe.

Ugh, I am unreasonably unhappy with how they redesigned Stinkfly AND Wildvine. Two of my babies, ruined by these designers. I honestly feel like a parent who has witnessed their children suffer a horrendous fate. At least they didn't touch my third child Ghostfreak. I'm glad Ghostfreak isn't even in since I fear what they could've done to him.
But yeah, I do agree that Stinkfly's reboot design would make a decent alien on it's own, especially with the unique grappling powers and speed boost function you implemented but not as a substitution for Ole' Stinkboy.

You and me both. I can't help but think they did this mostly to make their toys easier to design. Either way, it's a huge step down from how they used to look. Part of me thinks that if Ghostfreak is redesigned here they'll make him look like Casper the Friendly Ghost.
Yeah, this guy works so much better on his own with a whole different power set. People complain about too many aliens having the same powers, can't imagine how many would complain if this was unchanged and Stinkfly and Draggin' Fly were the same in everything but name.

Yeah, I'm upgrading him to be a slightly different alien than Water Hazard. He'll be made completely of water and need the robotic suit to move around outside of his planet. A way his powers are different are that he can control the temperature of the water he blasts and it can blast boiling hot water or subzero freezing water and he can even release water in the form of a mist for camoflauge. His legs might as be removed from this redesign.

That sounds interesting. Guess I'm not the only one who thinks of Overflow as a liquid alien in a suit.
I'm not going to use every alien in my reboot. I'm only including the aliens that each can bring something new to the table. Let's just say that five aliens have the electric power, then I'm just picking the one who does its job as an electromancer the best. It would also make it easier to keep track of them all.

Yeah, that seems to be the popular opinion on how this alien should be. I'm also giving him a semi solid jellyfish-like brain to keep him together instead of it being just a solid mass of water.
So which aliens do you have so far ?
Aren't you worried that if you use the best alien out of many who have the same abilities, then the others might seem inferior when unlocked and seen as a waste when you can go right back to the better alien ?

It's for the sake of avoiding redundancy. I mean, I am not including Ditto if Echo Echo can do the same job but better (as harming one clone doesn't affect teh others) and has additional sonic powers and I own't include Eatle because he does what Upchuck does without the charm. Each of Ben 10 aliens are cool in their own right, but it gets old having four aliens all with electric powers or having four aliens with strength oriented powers. I'm still picking out which would make the most balanced team of aliens without having too many and unneccesary ones.

I see what you mean. That's what I'm trying to do with redesigned aliens. With some of them having the same abilities, I give them or point out different abilities to make each one slightly unique. With Four Arms and Humongosaur both having super strength, Four Arms also has superhuman leaping in his powerset while Humongosaur has armor plating growth. When it comes to electric aliens, Buzzshock is good for instantaneous movement through electric lines, while Frankenstrike has self-magnetism which makes his body magnetic and pulls metallic objects to him. This could also make him different from Lodestar who actually manipulates magnetic waves and his magnetism abilities have greater reach but being made of magnetic rock brings a weakness that wouldn't be found with an organic beings like Frankenstrike.

Hm... If Ultimate Draggin' Fly were a thing, what powers/abilities would you add, what colors and features would you change, if there would be a different Planet of Origin for the Evolved Species, what would it be, and finally, give your reasons for each answer. It's sort of like a quiz thing, as I'm trying to do a little project for a reimagining of Ben 10, and Draggin' Fly and Stinkfly need to be separated in this reimagining, but Draggin' Fly, to me, needs the Ultimate more. I mean, what would you do with Stinkfly? Give him more stink-related powers? Make him look like a hybrid stinkbug/fly alien?

Species Name: Evolved Anisopcheliped
Planet of Origin: Submosvegnon II (originally the home of Anisopchelipeds, but when most of them migrated to the new first planet of this name, this planet became the second to this name, and the remaining species on this second planet evolved further to rival their migrated brethren.)
Powers/Abilities: Enhanced Flight*, More Durable Exoskeleton**, Two Extra Wings***, Two Extra Arms****, Improved Projectile Pincer Claws**** that can be shot away from the arms and hold tight to what's in their grip; the claws can also retract back to the arms. The combination of the projectile claws and enhanced flight allows for a fun time dragging around whatever he gets his mitts on. The segmented abdomen on his back releases huge bursts of energy***** that allows for more propulsion while in flight.
Weakness: The original pair of arms has lost their pincer claws, as well as their armor. If this pair of arms is attacked, the Evolved Species will be badly damaged.
*Enhanced Flight: The Enhanced Flight is thanks to the added power in the abdomen, as well as the added wings***.
**More Durable Exoskeleton: The Exoskeleton is enhanced thanks to the Ultimatrix.
***Two Extra Wings: The Ultimatrix adds two extra wings to the already-existing two pairs, just so that the flight can be improved.
****Two Extra Arms/Improved Projectile Pincer Claws: The original pair of arms is rendered clawless and armorless, so an extra pair of arms with the improved armor is added, thus, the claws are also improved.
*****Segmented Abdomen releasing Huge Bursts of Energy: The energy could either be improved greatly or enough to where it's just normal bursts of energy. That's how I see it. The other improvements are what I see fit, and the one downside is the downgrade to the original arm set.

Powers/Abilities: Energy Manipulation, Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Speed and Durability, Slightly Lowered Dexterity, Enhanced Appetite, Flight. Energy Techniques include the Kamehameha, the Masenko, the Galick Gun, the Eraser Gun, and the Solar Flare.
