With the government seeking to improve its military, they turned to Acension Industries, who wereexperimenting with genetic enhancement. The subjects of this testing were called Fair Folk and displayed a multitude of different superhuman abilities. Dr. Evelyn Smith, the head scientist, thought she was helping create better humans resistant to disease and with superhuman strength and senses but her superiors were actually developing human weapons. One subject Evelyn bonded with was a boy with no name who was called Gunner since he was part of the Gunner Division, but Evelyn figured it must of been his last name. When Evelyn discovered what her supiors plans were she fled with Gunner to expose the secret experiments they both were apart of. They would both become part of a bigger resistance against Ascension and Gunner would live up to his name by wielding two giant turrent gun cannons.
