After the Hybrid Event, Gabriel St-Pierre, small time kickboxer, was turned into a cricket hybrid and rounded up with the rest of the effected citizens and thrown into the Quarantine Zone that would become known as "The Zoo"

During the first few months of quarantine, survival came to those who were strongest as the security forces guarding the wall of The Zoo didn't do anything to Hybrids except in cases of attempted escapes. Many supply drops were taken by groups of strong and in many cases, evil Hybrids. St-Pierre kept his head down for since his arrival, but there were many starving people and children that needed this the food from this supply drop and if they didn't get it, they might have to resort to some terrible courses of action, like consuming each other. St-Pierre fought and managed to secure the supplies and those in need of it cheered the cricket as a hero. Nights later, the Hybrids St-Pierre fought against returned with reinforcements and held him down to make him pay for their loss in supply. They tore off St-Pierre's wings and were ready to make a meal of his legs when suddenly the limbs moved faster and struck stronger than ever before and St-Pierre escaped his binding and fought his enemies. By the end there was broken limbs, broken necks, and caved in body parts and St-Pierre fainted after his burst of energy wore off.

When St-Pierre awoke, he was in a hospital with his internal wounds being treated and his exoskeleton being mended. After fully healing, St-Pierre felt ashamed at killing those men, they had it coming as they were threatening him with death, but the deaths on his hand weighed heavily on his heart, as he was a fighter, not a killer. St-Pierre would try to use his skills and leg strength in a better way at the Hybrid Fighting Rings, where the strongest of the strongest test their might and can win massive cash prizes. St-Pierre's next opponent is a newbie to not just the HFR but to the Zoo as well. Word has it that this guy is a gorilla.
