The villain turned hero and owner of Octavius Industries.

Otto Octavius has had a hard life with an abusive father and overbearing mother and as soon as he could get out and go to college, he took the chance and left those two in the past. In college is where he met another intellectual like himself, Norman Osborn. Together they came up with some groundbreaking ideas and Norman suggested that when they go into business together and start their own company. With both of their last names starting in O's, it was suggested by Norman that they name it Oscorp. Years later, Norman's ambition led him to turning Oscorp into a multibillion dollar company with him as the CEO and Otto was more interested in the science and stayed as a scientist, though he also liked to teach high school science on the side to usher in the next generation of young minds. This is where he met Peter Parker and became a mentor to the young genius. When it was discovered by Otto that Oscorp was responsible for creating Spider-Man with their OZ Formula, both him and Norman worked on recreating the experiment but better and it resulted in Norman getting turned into the Green Goblin and destroying the lab. Otto would of died if not for his personal robotic arms that he loved to work with holding up the destroyed lab. But Otto didn't get out unharmed, he took a blow to the head that caused some brain injury and his robotic arm harness was fused to his spine. Days later, Otto's thoughts shifted to darker ideas and he was prone to rage more easily than before. Otto wanted revenge on the person that warped his mind and damaged his body and he was going after Norman and those around him. Taking the name Doctor Octopus, Otto crafted a suit and upgraded his robotic arms and went after Norman. The only thing standing in his way was Spider-Man and their fight ended in Otto's defeat. Otto would plot and go against Spider-Man for years before it was agreed by the NY court that Otto's harness would be safely removed and he would get psychiatric help. Surgery removed the harness and Otto got help from psychiatrist, Dr. Anna Maria Marconi, which helped return him to as close to his former self as possible. Years later, Otto was deemed fit to return into society and he decided to start up a new company named Octavius Industries and he even started dating Anna Maria, since they were no longer doctor and patient. Otto has come up with many new ideas and has even taken a page out of Tony Stark's book and become a heroic Doctor Octopus with interchangeable robotic arms. A new day has dawned for Otto and his future is looking brighter.
