My reimagined version of Velma from Scooby Doo.For her all new history she was originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. From an early age she was extremely smart, advancing past kids her age and understanding college level courses when she was 10. Though with her great intelligence came great expectations and she was pressured by her teachers to excel in her studies and soon it became too much for her. To help calm her down her parents, being extreme fans of the supernatural, got her to focus on many subjects they loved like Cryptozoology, World Myths, Spectral Studies, and Extraterrestrials. This change of pace immediately calmed her down and got her to become as big of a fan of the supernatural as her parents were. Though she took it to a new extreme when she found and broke into Area 51, but was caught. As a result of this, Velma and her parents were banned from Nevada for life, so they moved to Crystal Cove, a town with a history of supposed supernaturalness. Being a nerd, the only people who wanted to be her friends were other nerds, most notably Marcy Fleatch who would later become her best friend and the subject of some very interesting dreams. Her knowledge of the supernatural is put to the test when she is drawn into a supernatural mystery with quarterback Freddy Jones, cheerleader Daphne Blake, and Shaggy Rogers, who happens to have a crush on Velma.

Yup, the US government should be embarrassed at how easy it was for her to break in and if she wasn't legally bound to never tell anyone what she saw, she would have some awesome stories to tell.

Also if you don't mind my asking...how do they fight monsters?

It's usually a combination of improvisational combat with what tools they have and the location they're in, and also them using their specialties like Fred's traps and jury rigging devices, Velma's inginuity, Daphne doesn't have a specialty so she has a taser and possibly a some kind of gun for self defense, and Shaggy is a runner with smoke bomb/explosive making experience.

She starts out only into girls but as time goes on she becomes interested in both guys and girls.

Same here. In Mystery Inc, I thought their relationship started out good enough but having it end due to Scooby was where they dropped the ball.

Yeah, I can't Β help but think that things might have turned out a bit better if Shaggy and Velma were honest and told the rest of the gang about their relationship instead of hiding for as long as they did.

Though ironically enough, now thought of my own sort of Hanna-Barbera verse...and yes, the Scooby Gang are kinda the center of it.
They're the same amature sluthes of before, but now have to deal with both technological threats who happen to be those guys in costumes...but also mystical threats after becoming agents of their dimension's Sorcerer Supreme as it were, Vincent van Ghoul.

Makes sense. It's one of the only Hanna Barbera toons to still continue to this day, so being at the center is the right choice.

Yep. Though others do exist; supers like Birdman, Frankenstein Jr and Blue Falcon still fight crime, Johnny Quest and family still explore and Yogi and other Annunaki descendants are still at their usual antics. They just cross paths when Vincent needs them in certain places.
